AMD Phenom II and Dragon Preview Event - Invite Only

    Hey guys,

I was invited by AMD to attend this event, but I have schedule conflict and can't make it. They generously ask me to see if anyone in the XS community would be intereted in attending. So here are the details.

AMD is hosting an exclusive technology preview event in Boston (December 12), Chicago (December 8), and San Francisco (This Friday December 5!) over the next couple of weeks and has offered xtremesystems.org a very limited number of invitations. Extreme, future technology demonstrations with an opportunity to chill with other readers and AMD’s technologists will make for a must attend event. It is by invite only, and AMD needs your full name, email address and forum handle, and we’ll submit your info. Invitations will allow you to bring a friend. Act fast and good luck, we hope you get in. Email simon.solotko@amd.com with your info.

I am not sure how many seats will be allocated for XS or how big the venue will be, so please do not get upset if you do not get in.

Please post in this thread if you are going, and to which location. It would be great of XS'ers can meet up.

MOD - I posted in this forum because those that are interested in AMD woudl be here. If you feel this thread would be better suited else where, please feel free to relocate it.

Does this mean we'll see some numbers from AMD in response to certain accusations that have been placed on them?

Looking foward to read about the events once they're posted on the net

I would love to do the one in boston even though I'd need to fly out there, but I'm not sure a 19 year old no name is the best person to. Great opportunity none the less.
Not much to say right now.

Man... I wish we wern't so busy at work!! I just can't afford to take Tuesday off, I only live about 5hrs from Chicago by car, if it was on Saturday I'd take a shot at being there...

Thanks for the offer AMD, and thanks for showing props to the XS AMD community. Two thumb's up to FUGGUER too, for running the best AMD site on the net ...

If any of you folks make it, ya better give us an update!!

64NOMIS: I'm not sure if you can say or not, but is there any chance we could see the AM2+ (PII 940) version before Christmas?

I keep seeing the Jan'09 release date, while I keep hoping that will be the date for the AM3 version (PII 945), and the 940 will show up a little earlier...

The money is burning a hole in my pocket man! I really want a 45nm Deneb..
