Please Help anyone have an Idea ?????

I have a problem with my PC it has worked since I built it 4 months ago but recently I installed the Xfi Console as it requires power going to the sound card.

The PC for some reason starts but there is no signal going to the monitor and no power on the keyboard and mouse.

Sometimes it does work if I keep resetting the cmos but I was getting the blue screen of death after a wile.

Further investigation I uninstalled everything and now don't get the blue screen of death so could have been a virus but the pc still starts with no signal going to the monitor, mouse and keyboard.

This seams to happen on and off but what I don't get is no matter if I unplug everything except the monitor, keyboard and mouse it still does it so it is not a lack off power.

Also the graphics card I don't think is faulty as it works perfect when the pc is on and that wouldn’t stop power getting to the keyboard and mouse.

My power supply is a 1000w enermax galaxy, powering a Maximus formula motherboard, 4GB of Dominator DDR2 8500, Water-cooling pump, Radeon 4870x2, X-fi Elite pro, DVD-Rom, 6 Fans, Logitech G15 and G7.

Any help would be much appreciated.

you should check your connections, ram and all that dismount and remount everything at worst.
looks like something was moved during you plugged your gear

I would take a look on ram, try whit one stick first (i assume that your running 2x2GB)

What then identify if there was a memory problem that you are talking about.

Also it may be a bit of a silly question but is there no way of finding the amount of power the pc is using with software.

there is one with windows vista at boot, i have dual boot so it's always there, but you might have to press F5 or F8 before windows after post

you have enough power if your using a 1000W PS.

I had striker 2 formula, 4gb 8500,2 8800gt's, 2 water pumps. 1 DVD, 1 Blu ray. X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champion and 3 HDDs on my 1000W ps no problem,

so i would check ur conections and like others say, take everything off the board and plug them back in.
