Hi mate. New to this and could use some help.
Tried following giga's guide to 4Ghz found here (vcore 1,4v) and couldnt post.
I just want to reach 3,8-3,6 and be ok for now. (Summer being really hot in Greece.I have like 31-33 C ambient right now )
If you could spare me some time, could you post the exact changes you made in your bios to reach that nice overclock?
I have the F7 bios, which one do you use?
Any suggestions on xmp profiles when OCing? should it be disabled?
And what are the stock MHz for your memory; 1900 sound hard for me to reach with the 1600MHz sticks I ve got which btw reach 1600MHz only with xmp enabled, otherwise they run at 1066...
Thanks in advance mate.

Memory run 1066 if you have everything on stock
But 1600 its enough for 4ghz, but what did you sett on the vtt-volt?
I running UD4P with F8 bios and running 4ghz on 1,2v vcore and 1,27vtt. The same settings on F7.
Did you remember to sett qpi link speed to X36 and sett Uncore to 2+1 ( if you have choose 6 on the memory you have to set 13 on uncore)

I did exactly as suggested by gigabyte's guide.
vcore 1,4v , vtt 1,5-1,52v .
C1E, xmp, intel turbo, all disabled.
Memory x6, uncore 13, qpi x36.

Their guide is bunk dude. That VTT voltage is unnecessary and that vcore is for C0 920's not D0's.

yeah, the voltage in that guide is to high, If you have a D0 that need 1,4vcore under load , i will say you are a realy unlucky dude.

LOL...yeah, I actually am planning a new case just to cool my i7 better...not to mention in future when 16 core versions/32nm comes out...cant wait to see how hot those will be, regardless of what intel states about increased power efficiency, which obviously goes out the window with OCing.
I will try the HK as soon as one comes in stock somewhere, and getting one of these cases (link below) if they ever get built...and put a quad rad up top just for i7, and video cards will do fine with 360.

I've modded the Extreme F8x BIOS and updated the Intel AHCI ROM to 1.20E and Intel RAID ROM to v8.5.0.1030
I tested it by flashing it to my UD5, and AHCI is working great.
If anyone would like to try it:

wow 1.5v for 3.6That is some nice low volts for 4ghz koc...I'm at 3.6ghz on the same volts (1.5v in BIOS??), wonder if it'll get me to 4ghz??
i run 3.8 with 1.1v only and 4.0 with 1.2 only in the bios and its very stable
you dont need more than 1.2-1.3v for 4ghz

I was wondering if I could get some help in the right direction with my Extreme board. My system specs are listed in my sig, but to start off, using my old DFI UT x58 and ASUS P6T6 I was able to get my rig to post at 20x192(with turbo mode on, so I guess 21x) no problem. For that setting I used 1.325v vCore, 1.3v VTT, 1.8v PLL, 1.8v DRAM, and about 1.26v for the IOH (not ICH). Ram I would leave on Auto timings and start at the lowest multi/speed listed in bios (generally under 1200MHz). Now using these settings with bot the DFI and ASUS I got the board to post up to 21x216 with out a problem, but now, those settings don't even post. My D0 I got second hand from someone who using a Gigabyte Extreme was able to get this chip to do 4.62GHz, so I know the problem most likely is a BIOS setting, but since I am unfamiliar with some of the new terms and general layout of Gigabyte, I'm not sure where to start, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well , i disable the physx and i score 24921 for the CPUThat's because you have physx enabled, he doesn't. People who disable it, usually submit their scores to hwbot where it is an illegal setting.
i think this is fair result

wow... so I tried to work with bios f8b and then f7 with nothing but horribleness. I would get the bioses loaded and start fresh from a clean slate then trying to get my old OC settings stable was a disaster... f8b went into a boot post loop every time I would even get half way through my bios configs... I would have to full power the mobo down (power out of the psu) to get it to stop. f7 made it through all the configs but windows would not load... after several hours of this I gave up and went back to f5e. Also, 7f was going the same damn multi-post thing making my areca raid card beeping like a smoke alarm in forest fire... the whole reason I wanted to get a new bios was to avoid that... so I guess all of these gigabyte bioses do this when the board is overclocked?? I am thinking about soldering the buzzer off the raid card at this point. sheesh!
