Anyone running a Lan Party UT X48-T2R without that External HSF?

Anyone with a LANPARTY UT X48-T2R and have not used that external HSF? I'm interested in this board, but that external HSF is just way way to much. Does the NB / Regulators get that hot that you NEED to mount their external HSF?

You mean the TransPiper? Most of the reviews of DFI boards that come with it say it really isn't necessary.

Yeah that external HSF that's sticking out the back where the USB/Network/Sound ports out. (transPiper)... Good to know.

+1 get a low noise fan and place it there after you cleaned and lapped the aluminum surface like sam said, will keep your pwm very cool, if you plan to run a Duo Core you don;t even need a fan...

Yeah, I plan on using it with a E8600. Thanks for the feedback. It's appreciated!
