i look at this from a distance in my PC room and i like it, i get up close, ehh not so much.
not only that but the image is darker and richer on my PC, but my NAS and imageshack both are degrading the picture.
either its the compression they are using or something.

its not vignetting its an added gradiant in the raw editor in photoshop.

i'm still baffled as to whats happening with my pictures. they look better on my pc but the minute i upload them somewhere it changes them. reduced the color richness, and just overall degrades the visual quality.

it makes me wonder if i changed something in PS that makes certain web based image hosting sites, and my NAS not display them properly.

What color space are you using when you shoot/edit?
Using the export for web feature in LR/PS should yield better results than just saving as a jpg.

It has a web "workflow" or tab. It may have an export to web as well. I don't have it installed because I hate all the other crap it puts on my file system.

    EDIT:
Just did some googling... LR might not be the best tool for exporting for web. I can look into further when I get home. I thought that web workflow would accomplish this but it seems to be more for just creating a css gallery or something along those lines. the photos it creates should be optimized but i see a lot of talk from people complaining about the quality they get from that workflow.

    Another EDIT:
I'll create another post for this so we don't clog up POTD.

well I didn't thing image shack used aRGB (if thats what it is) or is it sRGB. I know most of us use Flickr Because of this exact reason. Try uploading it to a Flickr account and see if you notice a difference
