I on the opposite can't wait for a good non-rainny day, really need to go out and shoot some landscapes and probably some wildlife, it's the fox cubs time of the year

feeling like a bird in a cage due to the terrible weather and no interesting landscapes around the past 2 1/2 weeks, got so bored, that I decided to do some silly shooting in the car going to a business meeting

Thanks BZ, I'll keep that in mind, I learned a little the evening I took the birdy shots re what my current 18-140 f/3.5-5.6 lens is capable of and how it performs in low light, I'll try again using my 35mm f/1.8G next time, being the only other lens I own ATM

Ignored the crappy weather, got pretty wet and cold, spent a crazy amount of money on silly tolls every 20km or so, got lost, but... got a shot.

See, the Nikon cameras have a slightly larger sensor, so my crop factor is closer to 1.5x. Which means a 50 is only 75mm. It works, but it is just barely adequate for portraits. Better would be 60, which would be like a 90mm lens. Even still, some portrait photographers insist 105mm is more flattering.

Some great looking shots in this thread since I last had something to post! Love the lonely fisherman BZ.

Took the nifty out for its first spin over the weekend and it is a blast to shoot with. Such a versatile little lens. I was fascinated by a faucet I ran across, it just looks like it has had an eventful, if tough, life.

Living through the last vestiges of yet another hard winter.

I'm quite new at PP, so I'm asking for your opinion. The first one below is SOOC, the second is with a little PP. C&C is most welcome!

Lastly, a close up shot of this personality filled faucet.

A few minutes hike from home. This is a heavily visited area, and undisciplined visitors keep on throwing trash around.
Took this shot a day after a tropical storm.

Btw, does 500pix require a different optimization before uploading than let's say Flickr?
Even if I've uploaded a 3000px at the long end w/ 240ppi, max quality .jpg, it would still result in a pixelated and blotchy images.
On another website it can be solved by using a .png file which I can't do the same for 500pix.
I think I've tried everything; adhered to 500pix's guideline in uploading, tried using all 3 colorspace, etc.
...I'm starting to think my ISP is compressing images from 500pix. Your thoughts?

Did you purposefully go for an overexposed shot? I threw it through PS and came up with this:

Nope; it was very bright that time of day. I like the reduced exposure; maybe not so much the red going crazy. :p

Love that sanitarium shot BZ; very surreal.

Went to downtown Raleigh for the St. Patty's day parade and got some fun shots to share. I processed a couple as color and B&W, so I'll post both. Feel free to comment on which you like better (or neither, if that's the case).

I prefer this one in B&W.
