That should do the job indeed.
Are you gonna be running four hold downs or just the two?
IMO It may not seat well with only two.

Can you post some detailed instructions on how you insulated? I will be doing this soon and need help.

    Hi,
The insulation is for a TEC or a water chiller?? What are you going to use for the northridge?? You should push in a little bit the foam or neoprene it is nearly on top of the northbridge. Looks good my last attempt of insulation ended up with tons of dilectric grease all over the place.
    Good work!!

You can get dielectric greese at an auto parts store right?I only have 1 and a half tubes left after getting the VC done and the NB is still not insulated. I'm not to sure how well the insulation will work around the caps though. I just used ALOT of greese around them and I'm going to cover it with more greese and neoprene tommorow. Anyway how I insulated basicly:
coated middle hole thing with greese
    shoved neoprene square in
    filled holes
made shim around socket (just saw I forgot to put it in, uh oh )
covered CPU with dielectric greese and put my AS3 on
put mounting hardware on (kinda scared me because of the metal part. I hope my boards still alive
Covered back on board CPU socket area in greese and put some neoprene on. Kinda undersized so its sorta hanging in the mountingless corners

    As for the block:
its just neoprene and electrical tape

After getting the block on I wraped some more neoprene around to cover some gaps (but left back and didn't realise) and added more greese

I know its like on the NB. I'll have to squish it a bit to get the NB on. Shouldent be TO hard I'll have the NB up tommorow and heres the GPU:

    And heres me:

Please, dont comment on the shirt, I always look dumb in pictures and the stars on the wall were from when I was like 3 (I'm 13 now)

its not what you used, its ...how... you used it. you should evenly cover the entire block with it, not just spray a load of it on the block like cream on a cake.

haha, good thing you didn't go OVERBOARD, because you wouldn't be able to put anything on to cool your northbridge

    and damn you look 12

Very impressive for your age mate

I think im gonna use that goo stuff but im gonna trim in into a boxshape. Then for the pcb and stuff, gonna use weather stripping till the block just barely touches. Anyone think thats a bad idea?

i would spray a cube of the foam and then cut it into the shape in need for my block. then maybe use a spoon to cover it with some fresh foam...

Hah ywa I guess I kinda do. I turned 13 July 27 though... I never look normal in pictures either like I said to

Thanks Jason. I know its gona work out good but theres the normal "Ah great I probley fried it doing something" thought lingering in the back of my head but when it works that thought being proven wrong just makes me even happier so I guess its good as long as everything works out right
