My new Intel engineering sample turned up today.
It's on the testbench now

ASUS 6T Deluxe
Powercolor 7970 @ 1050/1475
12GB GSkill Ripjaws
Antec 850W TruePower Quattro
50" Full HD PDP

is it safe to keep (24/7) i920 D0 on vcore1.31v and vtt also 1.31v?????

Um, hi, I have recently built an i7 setup. But I 'm totally noob when it comes to overclocking an i7 920 cpu. I managed to clock it to 4ghz at 1.4v though which was not too difficult to do (at all lol). So, I would like to know, if the temps under the prime stress hit 80C degrees are those temps acceptable or not for this cpu?... Thanks.
good sticky bro

ok here is a table for u guys to understand
take note its only possible to find ure scaling and vtt/dram ratio and vtt/vcore ration when u have a very strong confirmed base
for mine after 4-5 boards
my bclk 200 confirmed
if u notice the downward/upward trend is to maintain the scaling
if i change and confirm one voltage i need to adjust the other two to make sure it stays on that trend
also this is how i also sometime question ppl voltages when they post a setting without a screenshot that goes against this trend.
the trend is like ure upper/lower limits.
Nehalem processors code-named Bloomfield (Core i7) have four physical processor cores and a triple-channel DDR3 memory controller.A new processor deserves a new motherboard, so a new chipset is announced today as well; the x58 chipset. The new Core i7 processor has 1366 pins and as a result the size of the processor, socket and heat sink mounting brackets are all larger than LGA 775 based processors that have been out now for a couple of years. The die size of Core i7 processors is 263 mm2 and the transistor count is 731 Million.
Batches are no longer a very accurate indicator of a chip's potential. You will never truly know until you pop it in a give it a run. However, there are lists compiled here on XS with batch #s and corresponding overclocks.
Just a note, but you should not exceed 1.65v for the DRAM.
