Years ago when I was working for a company hooking high speed scanning and printing solutions to people's networks I did some work at an independent company that worked on Macs. They were running the Mac OS on top of Linux long before "thief Jobs" realized that it would make his OS (Mac users don't hate me because I am beautiful ) into something viable. But I always did like the Motorola RISC chips.
In my opinion it was the start of a real OS for Macs. JMHO YMMV
