20k average is good, that's what I'm shooting for too. One more i7 and I'll be there (and I can even shut my phase rig off at night to save elec...)

lobster meat sells for app $35.00/lb
    restraunts usually serve 1-1.5lb lobsters..
    A damned snack..

    Oh its on now!

I had an excellent job when I worked on the rigs and we had local fresh crayfish paid for with beer every other night for a few weeks! while we waited for them to be ready for us Needless to say I got a little round with all that good food!

What you need phase for just hang it out the window! Never gets that hot in europe!

20k per day is serious hardware and power requirements!

Not with i7 it ain't... 5-6 of my "cube nodes" would do it, at ~1,2KW/h. But the initial cost is double that of a Q6600 setup ofc.

    Closer to 60-75 I think..
The biggest one ever caught was 44lbs I think and almost 4 ft long..
Old wives tale that the big lobsters are 'tougher" eating than the small ones.
    Not true..
6 mins per lb boiling and perfect..
We had a 20lb'er once.. 6.5lbs of meat from that sucker.
My father-in-law won it for a $2.00 raffle ticket..

yeah you can get some pretty serious lobster up north. and if you don't realize until you get home that your pot is too small to cook him in, you can always keep him as a pet

Just picked up my first i7 system got it at less than 50% of the marketed value...I know, I am going to get a hard time because it is a Dell, but really I am just buying for the parts

    DELL, STUDIO XPS 435MT, BLACK/GREY INTEL(R) CORE(TM)I7-920 PROCESSOR (2.66GHZ, 8MB), 4096MB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHZ MEMORY RAM, 512MB ATI(R) RADEON(TM) HD 4850 DUAL DVI OUT, 16X DVD + /-RW WITH DUAL LAYER WRITE CAPABILITIES, INTEGRATED GIGABIT ETHERNET 10/100/1000, 500GB SATA 3.0GB/S HARD DRIVE WITH NATIVE COMMAND QUEUING

Now this will be my number 1 cruncher had to do it really for the price...I agree that Dell's might not be the greatest place to start, but the current cost of the CPU + memory is equivalent to what I paid for the lot

And Dave, I like the idea of you in a Tan Pie
