    And now i'm glad i upgraded blocks. 10 bucks to go from 775 to 1366? Ya i can deal with that. Sad part is, shipping will probably be 8 bucks

    Btw dudes.. there are very smart board makers who are drilling LGA775 mounting holes along with 1366.. yes you cna have both.. only the clever ones like Foxconn figured it out.. so depending on your board, you may not need a diff retension kit

    I wonder if having four more holes will have any impact on motherboard rigidity? A moot point with a good backplate, I'd assume, but I wonder if somebody using push-pins on an 8-hole board will run into issues?

    correct me if i am wrong, but isnt the socket for the LGA775 smaller than LGA1366? if so, using older water blocks would not be as effeive as a larger waterblock designed for the LGA1336?

    Sorry if this isnt clear, what i am basically saying is, lga1336 = larger physical size? .:. larger water block would increase the surface area that is in contact, improving cooling.

    Yes but the heat source, the actual die, is not any bigger than current quads... and remember Nehalem is back to single die... for now.

    Well and until the damn parts come in stock, and get shipped :P

    Same here. No point in jumping on the new parts until i can mount the waterblock. Figure the longer it takes the bracket to come out, maybe prices will come down a bit
