    Talking DFI DK X48-T2RSB Plus > E8600 @5146Mhz H20



    Been playing with my DK X48-T2RBS Plus and fsb wise it's much better than previous DFI boards I have played with P35/X38/X48 which got stuck around 500-510FSB 32M Pi, while this board manages 563FSB 32M Pi http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=10937

    Max validation @571FSB so far:







    Memory clocking ain't half bad either

    tRD/Performance level = 7

    Max 32M Pi & Max CPUZ Validation
    on H20

    Time to push the E8600 Q820A599 *0464 cpu and Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 Tracer memory and they certainly didn't disappoint - max highest H20 cooled Super Pi 32M yet @5093Mhz! To think this E8600 Q820A599 *0464 only did max Super Pi 1M @4952Mhz and max validation @5079Mhz at 1.552v idle on Gigabyte EP45-Extreme with exact same cooling setup.

    Even better than my E8600 Q820A599 *0537 which did Super Pi 32M @5003Mhz at 1.568v idle with max CPUZ Validation @5146Mhz on DFI UT X48-T3RS DDR3 board.

    Looking good George too bad I sold my E8600, otherwise would have wanted to try to approach them speeds on H20 too ( as it's starting to get cold and chilly here )... maybe I'll give the 8500 a shot...

    As I said in the other thread, really impressive speed and time, and also bandwidth. That board's great. And 5 E8600's? I'd be happy if I just had 1, I'd love to do some higher freq/high FSB benching, my E8400 just can't do it.

    I have the same board and same Q820A599 8600 and I'm having a bit of a time getting 5ghz. Would you mind showing my your settings that would possibly work with 500x10? I'm ram limited, but I'm positive this chip/board has 5 in it.

    yeah loving the board so far.. still would like it to be a bit faster for bandwidth and super pi 32m time at such clocks - will have to work on tuning/tweaking bios settings over the week

    no idea, i rarely use air due to the hot/humid Brisbane climate heh. But using Nautilus 500 h20 which is only single 120mm rad, is pretty much close to my performance with Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme and then on DFI UT X48-T3RS my E8600 Q820A599 *0537 did 5003mhz 32M and 5146mhz validation at 1.568v idle.

    Before i tried 9.5x526+ FSB, I tested 10x500FSB loose timings 333/667 to make sure 5ghz was 32M pi stable. Ran 32M with CPUZ running as well, 1.5875v bios set = 1.552v idle = 1.52v load with vdroop enabled

    Load @5000Mhz - 10x500FSB = 1.52v load

    You have some very nice overclocks posted. I've enjoyed looking at all the screen shots. I'm curious with you water setup... how much cpu vcore and at what speed/overclock do you like to run your rig in a 24/7 type setting? I'm also wondering what the *0537 refers to after the fpo/batch number?
    Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

    I sent you a pm, but I really appreciate you sharing those setting eva.

    My huge hurdle is that if I set my VID Control above 1.3v, my bios gets scrambled and I have to jump it/pop the battery. I see that you're not having that issue. My only way around this is to use both settings in conjunction but I can't get 1.58+.

    CPU VID Control: 1.3
    CPU VID Special Add: 115%

    So 1.49v is my limitation.

    Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

    EDIT just noticed the new bios. And the fact that the 8/29 that I have mine running now is pulled from the list. No wonder.

    thanks... for E8600 ~1.35v gives me prime95 @4.4ghz IIRC which for 24/7 would be where I am

    you have vdroop enabled or disabled in bios ? i find 45nm cpus clock better with enabled on DFI

    9/23 bios ? recommended

    This is where I got a little confused.

    Vdroop control enable allows for vdroop...correct?
    disabled locks the vdroop for very small amount of droop...correct?

    I have been using disabled as when it is enabled I have to set my vcore higher to compensate during heavy load. For 4ghz I would have to set it to 1.3, so that it would load at 1.26v. With it disabled, I can set to 1.26v and load at 1.24v. I'm not sure if this approach is viable, but I have gotten 4.7ghz 32m stable at 1.48v after the minor droop.

    If this is the wrong approach then by all means show me the way

    I fully intend on giving that bios a shot when I get home. I noticed that they pulled the 8/29 which might be the reason why I'm having the issue with the VID Control.

    my last 599 was great but its dead and the new 593 is good enough for air-> 4500MHz (1,35v prime or 1,32v for benchin) but is a pretty crappy on subzero

    I have also been playing with this board. Thought I'd post some results here as this seems to be the best place for it.

    Everest @ 4500 MHz (500 x 9) / 600 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 7



    SPI32M @ 4500 MHz (500 x 9) / 600 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 7

    Time = 10m 26.000s




    Next I decided to push things more, and see what kind of times I could get while edging up the CPU and ram speed. I left the MCH at PL 8 as I was just getting to know the cpu and didn't want board instability complicating things.

    SPI32M @ 4610 MHz (512 x 9) / 614.7 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 8

    Time = 10m 14.718s




    SPI32M @ 4703. MHz (523 x 9) / 627.1 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 8

    Time = 10m 02.640s




    Dropped to PL 7 and shed a few seconds leaving everything else untouched.

    SPI32M @ 4703.5 MHz (523 x 9) / 627.1 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 7

    Time = 9m 58.953s




    Everest @ 4703.5 MHz (523 x 9) / 627.1 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL 7
