    CPU upgrade for laptop

I've got an HP DV-6365us and want to get some more horsepower out of it for compiling my C++ and C# projects (not to mention some renders I do) and was wondering what mobile processors would be compatible. I know that there is socket M and socket P and I believe I am socket M. CPUz tells me that I am socket 479 so does that mean I am relegated to using the older Socket M only processors? (and does anyone know of any good deals on these bad boys)

Check Ebay. I was looking at an upgrade for my wife's Dell E1505 (has a 1.66GHz Core Duo T2300 and was looking to go to a 2.16GHz T2600 or 2.33Ghz T2700) and found several T2600s for like $100, excluding Live cashback.

I believe your laptop has the 945G chipset, so you use any 667MHz mobile Core 2 Duo processor. Something like a T7400/T7600 would be a good upgrade.
