    I've never seen a black piccolo. I still can't see the side hole in the picture and I figured that the blunt end would have to be for a double reed. I used to play alto and baritone (since they're both E-flat - IIRC). I always wanted to get a soprano or sopranino, but I suck so bad there wouldn't be any point. I still can't play anything with more than 3 sharps or flats without getting a headache.

    Yeah, this is a 'proper' piccolo... They're wooden and cost ~1400 euros. I still haven't found out where the money went into. As for the saxophone, I started only like a month ago with that. It's awefully difficult getting used to a reed when you've played nothing but flute/piccolo. Thank goodness for common fingerings, that makes it a lot easier
