    Talking [Team.AU] 790i ULTRA + E8600@6GHz + SLI 2xGTX280 = 126K '01, 38.9K '05, 341.4K AM3

    G'day fellas

i jumped on my old 790i Ultra to try get some half decent FSB for SLI action and managed to bench at 600*10 with about 10-15L LN2 i had left

It was pretty stable at thosesettings but just could not get 6050MHz stable and my Performance app wasnt working properly to try OC FSB in windows....

I havent fully tweaked yet and had a 115K 3DMARK03 run crash as i overfilled the pot eek.

    Setup Configuration:
    *E8600@6.0GHz (kingpin F1EE LN2 cooled)
    *Corsair Nautilus 500 watercooled SPP
*Reference Nvidia 790i Ultra SLI mobo
    *2xGigabyte GTX280 in SLI 755/1350/1625(stock air)
    *Corsair Dominators DDR3 1800MHz CAS7
    *Corsair HX1000 1000W PSU
    *Windows XP SP3 (dirtyOS)

    6GHz CPUz validation

quick 1M SuperPi to check stability....man this was very exciting..getting the board to 600MHz*10 for the first time hoping i'll stick it for 3D .... gotta admit the heart was racing

quick 8M superpi for stability...nothing tweaked just the way bios spat it out

If you could push te CPU to the 6.2Ghz maybe you could get a score like Vince

If the board could bench at 620FSB

Anyway thats a pretty good score for stockcooled GTX280s

    heheh thanks guys

it would be nice if i could figure out Vince's trick to run the board at 620MHz FSB

one nasty thing about my board+CPU combo is -78C cold boot bug and every time i restart i have to get the temps to -78C so it's worse than a normal boot bug (luck the chip will boot at such temps at 6GHz )

in windows it will run up to -125C >> on gigabyte P45 board the chip was ok all the way to -150C

only think i need to try play with atm are GTL Ref but in my previous benchmarks i could not get any decent gains other than a few MHz from tweaking GTL Ref

Nice job Dino! 790i is no walk in the park after EP45T-Extreme/Rampage Extreme. I benched ~4 hours with one and gave up in frustration at 5500MHz. Now get those GPUs under chilled water or LN2 and push it higher. 40k 3D05!

ah yes single card i see very nice...i remember now. You should be a bit higher on all the FPS with a single card with clock for clock.....with extra CPU MHz even higher....i have to figure out something with my setup to show you what i mean

hehe, gotta go back to the well for the good stuff. great results buddy, can't wait to see you squeeze more out of it. my 790i Ultra is just sitting here waiting for an E8600 and LN2...but i don't see 600FSB in its cards, that is very nice

my 790i FTWD though is starting to make things interesting though
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...

    Looks good...
Doubt that 01SE is possible to beat with 2x8800GT, which makes me really really sad, just less then a week to go, bah....

Mobo seems to be a killer... Just made me get high hopes for the one I receive soon...... Does cooling on NB help the chip...? (being shipped from USA tomorrow, hopefully... Keeping my fingers crossed!)

    8800GTs are good cards

i think its doable with LN2
they will score better in certain test/s than GTX280

but nature will be slower of course

you will need 630FSB to challenge vince
