Brand new ud3p and EasyTune wont work for me.
It will start and it shows up in My task manager GUI; but it does not show up on the screen. BTW i'm running windows 7,,is it compatible?
This is one sweet motherboard. It has everything. Even com and lpt ports??
I have no use for them; but they are nice to have if i ever do need them.
I downloaded the latest eztune from Gigabyte, but it wont work either. Does the same. Running TeamGroup GMH and a q9650, looking forward to some krazy clocks.

Once i installed the new mobo, my vid changed in coretemp..now it reads 1.225?? Also when running stock the mobo defaults to 1.225V. In my old p35 mobo the vid was reported as
1.1000 and the mobo defaulted to 1.1000 ???

    Thats your real vid 1.225v.

BIOS F6 is good but F7 final is a bit better I think.

Regarding the ET6 I guess if you have a Windows installation that is not on drive C: it won't work.

I'm still testing this but you only see this when you try to open ET6:

here is some decent priced rams. http://www.mwave.com/mwave/DeepSearc...8500&ALL=y&TP= I'm using now. Purchased in Jan. I paid over 10x as much for my first ones when they came out. The one I am using know seem ok. I have some 9600's I have not used on this board yet. They have been in P5K-e @600 for almost a year. I did use some G.Skill PQ's 2x2 in this at first and plan on putting them back in after a bit here.[IMG] [/IMG]BIOS F6 E8500 KHX 8500 2x1

This is what I've done so far, any suggestions? I had this same chip and RAM at 445x9 on my Abit IP35-E @ 1.42v. I got 25+ hours in Orthos at 400x9 @ 1.25v (1.3 bios).

@radaja: nice OC,.. may i know what is that gskill 8800 rated speed, timming and voltage?

@turbotrey: if only u could lower that MCHcore a little bit, it shouldnt past 1.22v for 420fsb especialy with 2x1gb ram that underclocked my guess is 1.2v already more than enough, but correct me if i'm wrong, im still noob

those crucial seems running with terrible timming, 5-5-5-15 would be great and with PL9 for a start, pump that fsb!!!!

    thx

Ur PLL is too high, try 1.5v.

Also ur MCH is a bit high, 1.1v to 1.2v should be enough.

Also RAM timings, 5-5-5-15 should work.

Those are really nice voltages, but try Prime/OCCT for >10 hours and IntelBurnTest >30 passes to see if it's really stable.

Why do you think F4 is the best? Does it allow lower voltages for the same OC or...?

    -----

I have an EP45-UD3 and e7300. It's nowhere near as good as all your e8x00 it seems. It needs 1.35v in BIOS for 3600 MHz, but anything above that requires a big voltage increase. 3.75 needs almost 1.42v and 4 GHz would probably take >1.475v. I've read it is not uncommon for e7x00 to require much higher voltages than e8x000, is it true?

In the end, I've settled for this. It's >12h OCCT Mix and 60 pass IntelBurnTest stable. Can you tell me if temps/volts are ok for 24/7?

    IDLE:

    LOAD OCCT:

    LOAD IBT:

BTW How come Tcase is higher than core temps?

    Hi Touche,
if there is new feature added in newer bios builds and i found it i'll consider changing the sysem bios then.
otherwise, i already have some of my favorite settings under the F4 version, and since i'm not looking for every bit of voltage or mhz i hate spending time on some more testing on the newer bios.
it's like it's been a while now that i use my boards, so it's not like i just got it yesterday or last week, so i'm kinda tired of redoing all the testing and things i already did.

I just wish they fix the S3 bug, it's pretty annoying. And a changelog for new BIOS versions would be nice.

Thanks for your help. I upgraded to f8a bios.
This is the easiest bios upgrade ever.
I used a usb stick and the upgrade utility in bios.
So far i got 3.6ghz. First try, day one. More to come later.

hey touche, your MCHref is opposite to mine, i had to set it .72 to boot above 500fsb and VTT no less than 1.26 to get stable at 535, funny thing is i couldnt past 450fsb whatever voltage i set for MCH and VTT, but after update to F6, it perfectly stable for 535, tried 550 and 560 but no stability on windows, i guess my 8Gigs RAM limited my OC, will try to boot with two sticks next weekend and see if can get higher .. and thx for all the guys here with lots of info

Since ET vs BIOS MCHref is pretty confusing, what is yours set to in BIOS? At 400 MHz I've left MCHref at default 63% of VTT while increasing VTT to 1.3v. But at 500 MHz system would crash if I didn't lower the MCHref a step or two.

funny thing is i couldnt past 450fsb whatever voltage i set for MCH and VTT, but after update to F6, it perfectly stable for 535, tried 550 and 560 but no stability on windows, i guess my 8Gigs RAM limited my OC, will try to boot with two sticks next weekend and see if can get higher
I've had trouble with F6. It wouldn't boot at PL10, only on auto (and maybe on manual but much higher than 10, can't remember). It seemed as if it always tried to boot at too low PL, even if it was set on 10. Went back to F5.

That's one nice e7300 you got there. Wish mine was as capable. Is it IntelBurnTest stable also?

Can your system wake up from S3 with current settings?

i had similar confusion regarding this bios and ET but i read a post several pages earlier that if you want to use 1.3VTT u have to set it at default first that is 1.2 then u can adjust cpu and mch ref according to your need then set the VTT back to 1.3, youll get correct value on ET, thx to that who posted it

Whenever i set PL9 it wont boot, whichever bios version i use so PL10 that is

i used burntest but my temps goes up to 80c so i just use orthos blend to check if its stable enough , VID is 1.1250

yeah i have similar issue with this S3 but i think its common i have no idea wether they fixed already with latest bios

I guess you have 0.9v MCHref then. I've mostly seen people having to raise their MCHref, so I was quite surprised to see that I actually have to lower it. I wonder why that is?

I have another small problem besides the S3 bug. My Steelseries Ikari Laser sometimes doesn't work after waking up from S1. I have to unplug it and then plug it back. Haven't tried other mice though, nor this one in another computer.

Do the settings in Advanced Clock Control affect FSB or CPU overclocking, or both?

2 asap: Sorry to bother you, but could you post your BIOS template? Maybe there's some setting that would help my e7300 reach 4 GHz.

Touche,i really dont know, but others swear by it.i was having problem getting stable with my new quad and i noticed that all the successful quad OC's had these set to 1000mv.so thats what i did.still couldnt get stable, that it until i found the sweet spot for my cpu ref and mch ref settings.but about the advance clock control i think i,at least with quads you do need to raise these.i never messed with it with my dual core OC's.EZALEINA,have you tried reseating your cpu cooler?core 2 does look a little wierd.is your cpu ihs flat, and is you cpu cooler surface flat?

yes bro.,me also feel the same.,its not all the time core #2 will higher than others.,sometimes it will change to other core.,it will goes to core 2,3,4 but not on core #1..i already reseat the heatsink twice.,as long as i seen the IHS is flat..is it ok bro..because i'm kinda scared if the temp would make my proc lifespan shorter,,

Thanx. Pretty much the same, except CPU/PCI Express Clock Drive (mine are at default 800/900mV). Did you have a reason to change it?
