Yup im seeing the same thing with huge droop. I just got my dmm & see if i can find a read point. Dinos, you know the read point?

Same here. In bios 1.26875 vcore (I am running the F5A bios)

In cpu-z and easytune 6 with LLC enabled I am at 1.23vcore. Its not as large a variance as what you are listing though.

1.35 in bios gives me 1.31 idle and 1.29 loaded. This is with LLC off. Still on the F4 bios.
The little air system that could.

I understand droop under load, but at idle the variance is unacceptable.

Easytune and cpu-z both report much lower numbers than what's set in the bios at idle.

    Dinos,

LLC works just fine, hardly any variance when used.

I can't wrap my head around the problem, nor what to believe, cpu-z/ET or bios.

    Maybe it's time to RMA?

    hmmm
i am confused so you enable LLC and set 1.35v in bios and get 1.24 under load and idle

is that what you are saying???

It looks like we all have the same problem. LLC works great as stated, as I am at 1.23 idle and load with no upward spikes and no downward spikes as the graph Dino mentioned is impossible LOL

Because I have a lower variance (1.26 bios, 1.23 Cpu-z/easy tune) maybe has something to do with the beta bios? I am going to tend to believe the bios. My vid is 1.25 and I am having a hard time believing that I could run at 4.0 Ghz at 1.23v. Its possible sure, but its more likely that I am at the bios reported voltage. Everest is also reporting 1.23 btw.

Correct LLC is enable and in bios vcore set to 1.26 but in windows its being listed by every app that can monitor vcore at 1.23 both idle and load.

For me its not much of a problem as the vcore is nice either way. If its 1.23 and telling the truth then I have a nice CPU.

For Flinch however that's a large variance so I understand his wanting to know which to trust the bios or apps like cpu-z?

Maybe you guys with big variance should try the beta bios.

    BIOS template?

I am kind of new here so I apologize if this is "out of line" but I would like to see those of us using this board sharing some BIOS settings. So.. I have created the template below. Unfortunately, I do not know how to add it as a "Text Box" as I have seen on other forums. if someone could tell me how to do this, I will revise it.

Here are my settings so far for 3.6

Well, my validation shows 2.4 , I guess because I have EIST enabled, but I am at 3.6 (400x9) with the BIOS settings below.

Shouldn't you disable CIA2? That's this boards auto overclocking thing isn't it?

I haven't posted my settings yet because I am not 100% stable. At 445x9 with my E8400 I ran Linpack 25 passes ok, then Prime small fft for 9 hours but blend craps out on me. I already have the mem at its highest rated 2.1v so I have been raising mch a little at a time. At 1.28 mch blend went 4 hours. Now I am 1.30 and will see if it makes it to tomarrow. (memory in my sig) 5-5-5-15. PL9. I may need to relax trfc from its current 52 setting. Haven't played with any of the memory subtimings except PL or their subvoltages. I don't even know what most of them mean. lol

    625?
    That's just nutz!

    My UD3R is on its way . . .
gonna put my E8500 in it and see what happens, only thing is i have 4 x 1gb of cruddy 800mhz DDR2 so that will be the limiting factor.

What is the latest thinking on mem dividers other than 1:1 and performance impact of that?

    Hi dinos,

I've played around a bit more and here's what I'm coming up with(I've ported this down from the XOC Forum)

Hopefully you can add some of your wisdom to this issue.

All tests down with F5a---I set 1.25 in the bios, then went to PC Health (in the bios) and it shows
    1.22(LLC Off)

So I fired up Cpu-z and E.T. and low and behold 1.22

I've never had a board show different readings in two areas of the bios.

    This is idle.

    Running Prime, down to 1.168

    Here's 4.0

    1.36 bios--1.31pc health-cpuz-E.T.

Voltage droops down to 1.26 Priming

Does this appear to be poor regulation or a bad board?

    Thanks All

Flinch: That appears to be normal. I experience similar droop under load. I don't have LLC activated.

    Thanks HousERaT,

So your getting droop that bad as well?

I've just never had a board that slammed voltages down that far.

Would you mind please telling me what you have for the settings below? I tried overclocking mine using all of the SAME settings that your images show, clocks, voltages, etc.. and I can't even get my E8400 to go over 3.6 and I am water cooled. I wonder if maybe some of the other settings that do not show in your images are causing my problem. I would appreciate your advise on the below settings

Anyone care to share what are considered safe voltages for the CPU PLL, CPU Termination and MCH Core on a wolfdale? Air vs Cold? TIA.

Since there seems to be some confusion about what voltages the BIOS is actually supplying, are there confirmed voltage read points for these boards yet?
