Hi, im thinking in buying the GA-EP45-UD3P with a Q9650, but Im stuck in deciding wich ram to buy! I want 8GB ram but Ive been reading this thread and people having problems with different ram just makes my head dizzy, can anyone tell me a stable ram that will run excelent on this board just by plug and play? Im not going to overcloak this rig, ill just run it stock. Thanks a lot.

Thank you but I did already know that, that was why I asked BuGjAE about the temp, because I have a temp probe stuck inside the MCH heatsink and with LinX (with max problem size and max memory use) I get close to 50C@1,34v MCH core, I have not got that high in temp with any other test application so far.

With 1,60v it should get pretty hot unless there is water to cool it or some other active cooling (fan).

With Everest I have to temp sensors, "Motherboard" and "Aux", Motherboard has the same temp as my CPU and Aux has temp 35-40C. Where they are located I don´t know but I think that Motherboard are somewhere close to the PWM and CPU area and Aux close to the ICH area.

Ok ,thanks guy. I down it now. seem 1.60 vMCH doesn't help anything better.

elite22 please tell me more about the MCH/DRAM reference. I was looking at your
templates and i understand all of your settings. I am stuck trying to increase my
fsb. I have messed with every setting on this thing except the mch/dram reference
I am assuming that you would just do it the same as all the other mch settings
ie... set it up to where memtest just starts to fail, and then start experimenting
with the mch/dram reference until it gets better or worse. I have never even
touched that setting. Does it have a dramatic effect (like the mch ref does) ?
Can you give me any hints?
Very nice cloking you do there. I like it. Impressive.
I want some stable high fsb action here. I seem to be stuck at about 515.

johnny168; I dont know anything about your particular chip, but on "my" chip the cpu term likes to be closer to the vcore to be stable.
Like maybe 1.4. But that is on a q9650. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

    Abit IP35-E to EP45-UD3R

Hello, Using the Abit right now with E8500 and 2x2gb of Mush ram. Runs fine at 3.6ghz, temps around 31c (with zalman 9500) Since Abit closed the doors in the USA I wanted newer board if I can run 3.6ghz with the EP45-UD3R or EP45-UD3P I would be happy. PSU is PCP&C 750w. ANy problems you guys see with the ram or the cooler.
    thanks

    regarding this,
notice the vMCH/Ref needs track vFSB, once you change vFSB voltage
vMCH/Ref will track the value, so you need to give a set on vFSB & vMCH/Ref

    Well here we go again, Q9650@500 4,0GHz and 4x2 OCZ Reaper PC8500@1000 555 15 tRD10.

It´s stable with 30 loop LinX (~3,5hrs, max problem size and max memory use), 10hrs with four instances of P95 blend, Is it stable or what.

Pretty nice 24/7 setup I most say.

its is basic off the dram voltage & mch, u should increase it for higher dram voltage. i did not see much change, but it should be scaled up like all the ref. voltage as there are not (0.67x, 0.63x, etc.) like on some motherboards they need to be increase with the cpu term and dram voltage they will also scale up if u use( + , - ) in the bios when increasing cpu term, and dram voltages, when cpu term increase this way both the cpu ref. and mch ref. voltages increase with it and when dram is increased mch/dram ref. increases
    hope that helps
btw:post ur settings so i can see what u r trying
