    Core i7 LAUNCH CONFIRMED: 11/16

    Update #2!

We were able to obtain the final, confirmed launch date! The Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition, i7-940 and i7-920 processors, as well as the Intel X58 Express chipset will be released at 9:00 pm Pacific Time, November 16, 2008. This will be followed by the official Intel press release and worldwide launch events on November 17.

Although OEMs are apparently restricted to launching their products only at 5 pm Pacific Time, November 17 (after the Intel launch), Intel will allow the new Core i7 processors and X58 Express motherboards to be sold as early as 12:01 am local time, November 16, 2008.

    To summarize :

November 16 (12:01 am local time) - End user sales, shipment and ads

November 16 (9 pm Pacific Time) - Worldwide product release

November 17 - Intel press release and launch events

November 17 (5 pm Pacific Time onwards) - OEM press release and launch events

A little later than I'd hoped.

Maybe you should move to a scandinavian country then. Here you can usually buy these things a day or 2 before release

And much faster Internet Connection for less and a health care system that also covers the dentist and and and... freezing in winter, oh wait, it gets cold here as well.

Well, In the uk we ended up waiting for a long time for the 45nm quads, while we where swamped with the dualcores, while in america it was the opposite situation, they got the quads and the duals where barely avalaible... I hope Intel manages a better launch regarding avalaibility with I7.

all i've seen was i965 OC, do you have any for i920 or i940 ? i didn't see any, but yes there is still NDA.
but that nda on launch and such does not make me confident on the possibilities to OC non xtreme i7's

    we'll see in 1 month :p

Cool. I wonder if it will be a hard launch with decent availability? I hope adequate numbers will be available by Christmas time!

This is very cool. Who confimed this? It says confirmed, but doesn't say who confirmed it. Did Intel confirm this? I just wanna make sure this isn't another rumor again. We've had too many of those lately that have turned out to be false.

If this is straight from Intel, it's time!!!!

I noticed the source page is now down.
Maybe it was a leak that got the NDA hammer?
At any rate, it's here on XS.

The source indicated it was a either a motherboard manufacturer (likely ASUS or Foxconn) or an Intel source. But it seemed reliable.

EDIT: NVM, i guess it is up? I'll post the link in detail.

That leak they might wanna let fly, becasue it just saved them a customer sitting right here at this keyboard. I was a bat's eyelash from jumping ship and buying a Q9550. Seriously. A month I can wait. I cannot wait past the end of this year. I will be doing some work again this winter and I must have this system buuilt and running before year's end.

Whew! That was a good leak for them, they should let it fly. Seriously.
