That shows how pathetic Porsche is. They cant even accept the defeat and try to blame Nissan for cheating...

I forgot exactly where I saw it 18 months or so ago, but someone saw an early GT-R test mule running down a 911 Turbo with no difficulties.

Considering that the 911 Turbo was the 'performance target vehicle' for the GT-R I have no doubts about Nissan's credibilty. I remember back in the days when the mighty Porsche 962 dominated the IMSA GTP class thoroughly until the Nissan FIA Group C prototype came into the class and absolutely destroyed it.

The Cayman S runs very close to Carrera S lap times when helmed by Porsche ace Walter Rohrl, and supposedly the president of Porsche has steadfastly refused to put more power in that chassis as it would embarrass the franchise model costing nearly as much.

    Maybe Porsche needs a waaaaaaaambulance?

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Germany declare war on Japan in the next few weeks.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

LOL. And now for 2009 Porsche updated the Turbo to be faster than the GT-R.

I remember Car&Driver had an article on this. They did alot of testing with the 911. Then Car&Driver went as far as to call it the "Corvette Killer" on their front cover. This really is an amazing car, I saw it at the LA Auto show about a year ago and I've seen one on the street. REally have to see it for yourself.

Maybe they should have used him then.....

"A Porsche chassis engineer took a standard GT-R bought in the United States with regular road tires, and tested it on the same day against a Porsche 911 GT2 and a Porsche 911 Turbo. According to Porsche, the GT-R posted a time of 7m 54s, with the 911 Turbo managing 7m 38s and the 911 GT2 getting down to 7m 34s."

    Well, Cadillac cheated. (rollcage)
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

The GT-R is seriously incredible. My dad works at a Nissan dealership and they had the first GT-R in Minnesota and I got a ride in it Wouldn't let me drive it though

Knocked my socks off that's for sure. I can easily see it beating a Porsche, but then again Porsches have always been kinda meh to me. Last exotic I would buy.

No its not. Point made it drops off nearly a second 0-60. Put it to perspective 0-60 droping off 1 second is the equivalent of droping 3cyl out of the hoped up vq v6 in there.

No launch control it means 0-60 is around the same time as a z06 if not slower. Also maintenance is much higher than a comparable vette.
