    GTX 280 issue

After a few mins gaming this often happens. The card is water-cooled and running at stock. Tried reinstalling old and new drivers but still happens.

Thing is it passes any benchmark no problems including Furmark stability test even at overclocked settings, so I don't know why this happens during gaming.

    Any ideas?

Is it a full card water block or just over the GPU. You get that sort of problem when a) the card/GRAM is overheating or b) the GRAM is going bad.

I guess that's happening only in one game ?

TBH only just got rig up and running and so have only played CSS where it keeps on occuring. I've just had a 10 min go on COD4 multiplayer and it was smooth as butter.

Ok try reinstalling the drivers and see if that helps.

As long as the block is seculy on the card we can rule out overheating of the RAM and GPU.

It looks like a game/driver bug.
Try some more CoD4 and maybe another game as well.

p.s. Have you updated CSS ?

just downloaded it from Steam so assuming its automatically updated. I'll plug in Crysis now as thats most gpu intensive.

what was your previous GPU solution?

It looks like you've got drivers conflicting with each other, or the GRAM is either going bad or over heating.

.... Use a driver cleaner to be sure you've got a really clean install.. If your going from ATi to a nVidia card you might have to reinstall your operating system D:
