    Gigabyte EP35-DS3L

    Hello ,

I am upgradign an older PC and thinking of getting a Gigabyte EP35-DS3L. My local store has it for sale at 60$ canadians.
I also need some memory to go with this and wanted to ask if this motherboard will be able to run timing of 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v or should i get something different?

    yeah, that's a good deal. I have 2 of these mobo's.. the rev 2's.
the deal with ds3l's is you have to hit cntrl+f1 at main bios screen to open up advanced features to change timings.

and the ram voltage control is a little weird.
    it's in normal, +1, +2, +3 settings.
so you'll have to set it in bios and then boot and read your ram voltage in hwmon to see what it's actually feeding it.

they are good boards though. my 2 have pretty bad vdroops. one is off by .09v and the other .06v vcore in bios. which makes it kind of starnge ocing to 3.6ghz on the bad one because I need to set vcore to 1.58v to see 1.49v loaded in windows. but if you can get past those little quirks, the board performs very well and is an awesome value. both of mine a fulltime crunchers so I run them at 3.33ghz for a little power savings and not so much heat in the room of 4 pc's going full tilt 24/7.
