I'd like to try this on my E5420's . I'm stuck at 3 Ghz now.
440x7.5 is my goal. 1.3v should be enough. (then I just need to tape VID5 , VID4 and VID1)

I have one here, tough to do a fine line with them.
You need to mask off the sides of the lines and thats tough to do when the path is .106" wide as it is on a 45nm chip.

No problems, blowing up logic I/O on the chip, have been seen by pulling high or low? I would expect it to be buffered, but I don't know...

    Thx,

Thx, that was the only thing I was wondering about.

So,"let loose the dogs of war" on this new machine.....It will either burn, or set records......

But, I guess I better put it together first, and make sure it can run at default, before I let it fly....

    Thx STEvil,
    Bob

Please let me know if this works.
I was worried about grounding the pin too, but seeing that BSEL mods (and Shamino's VID pinmod) involving shorting the pins work without blowing the chip, I assumed it is safe.
Of course LGA775 chips can be modded all the same; you have to find correct pins and vid table in Intels datasheet.

And thank you guys for appreciation

If what is here is all true then connecting VID4 to AK5 will change all 1.25v CPU's to 1.35v.

AM4, AL3, and AK5 are all VSS. Pretty much anything else is labeled as "reserved" or "VCC_DIE_SENSE"

Yes, and I intend to do just that STEvil. BUT not until Asus releases a working bios for E0 CPUs.. I ain't touching the X5450's until then.
You just don't risk a 40k/d cruncher for the sake of an added 5k/d at the risk of losing all 40k for the time being.

So I'm going to do the mod for 1.35V on my X5450's, as they already have 1,25V stock I only need to ground Vid4

Stupid mobo, it undervolts to 1,21V bios and gives only 1,17V after Vdroop, so I need more juice to run 4Ghz+.
I just tried this on a Harpertown X5450 and it boots up to 1333 every time... I re-did the tape several times now. It always boots and always to 1333mhz default...

I am using an LGA 775 board with the LGA 771 adapter. I suppose that has an effect on this right?

    Thanks

    What Mobo do you have?

I was all excited to try this until it occurred to me that my Asrock GS41C-GS tops out at 1333 (333 on the bus) so you could ask the CPU to run as fast as you want on that board and the most you are going to get is 1333,,,,,,
