Need help finding Micron D9 based DDR2!

So its been a little while since Ive needed new RAM. I already got 2Gigs of the sweet D9GMH Crucial Ballistix but now Im finding myself needing more for my system. Since mixing up the Ballistixs seems like its goin to be a problem with the current offerings from Crucial (single sided crap) and needing or wanting something capable of doing at least 1000-1020Mhz 4-4-4-8/10 2T, I need some input on which of the current kits could still be using theses sweet ICs...

Preferably something from either Mushkin, Gskill or Patriot.

    Thanks,

are you looking for a total of 4gb or 2gb?
i'm not sure why you're looking for D9's either unless you're benching. D9's die way too frequently to be in a daily machine. not sure why you think you need to 1000+ mhz with cas4 either.
i'd just suggest picking up this gskill kit:

I think maybe cell shock and xtreem still have sticks with D9 in them... but they are expensive and like has been said aren't reliable...

I for one have just one stick left of D9 out of 4 and i wasn't even hard on them... I'm looking forward to having my RMA go through so that i dont have to worry about this last one dieing... im sure they wont replace it with D9 but that will be nice for the insurance that i won't have to replace them every 6 months.

i have 3 full 2x1gb kits left, and 2 individual sticks left. and that's out of about 40-50 kits. most of which were benched until death, but several were daily PCs that i had to replace the mems every 4 to 5 months.

Im just looking for 4Gigs, the main reason why D9s is that my mobo just LOVES them... Ive never had any issues with the durability of the ICs when cooled properly and not abused of, since its only natural that they fail when being pushed too far (been there done that)

have you used D9's in a 4GB configuration before? i've never had much luck doing so.

Also check out this stuff: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Corsair-2GB-...QQcmdZViewItem

I got a kit of v1.3 from the seller today, and he said he had at least one more set.

I have 2x1gb D9GMH based OCZ 7200 Plats that are surplus to requirements, but I fitted Thermalright Ram coolers. You may struggle to fit them with 4 Dimms installed. I'm also in the UK, but PM me if you are interested.

Misleading. Newegg haven't updated their info and it's out of date. OCZ hasn't been using D9's on reaper for about a year now. Also in the spec it says 2.1 - 2.3v. Well, 2.3v will probably kill this RAM.

The Patriot 9600 stuff was still D9GMH last I heard, and the 9200 Vipers.

    Same seller has a ton of 16FD2 (= double-sided D9GMH) Ballistix.

Not sure. For one, I'm not in the USA so prices are not my strong point. I would think eBay is a good place to look for used Ballistix, preferably FD5, FD3, or anything with a 16 at the end of the part number. EDIT: Seems Shiranui Gen-An was thinking the same thing because he posted as I was writing.

Recently there was a guy selling a couple of 2GB Ballistix kits here in the classified ads section but they've probably gone now. Just keep your eyes peeled and something will turn up. Again, used Ballistix is probably a good starting point.

The D9GMH Ballistix 5300 kits can go at least to 8500, if not higher. 9200+ isn't out of the question.

Nothing is guaranteed, and you are usually better off starting from a higher speed like 1066 over 800, however, Micron D9 is usually always good. Only yesterday I was looking at some benching results from a guy using PC5300 Ballistix which did at least DDR1200.

Again, nothing is guaranteed, overclocking is down to luck most of the time, and unless you're paying for high-end RAM like CellShock, Team Xtreem, etc., you can't really expect anything past the manufacturer's rated spec.

Do it. This kit is killer. I just ran DDR1302 with it, albeit briefly. In a few days I'll set up some active cooling and post some benches.

I'm not exactly sure, I just set it to 2.3v and it seemed stable, although I didn't run MemTest or anything, only Super Pi 1M. I got scared and backed it down but it was nice for a while. I really don't want to kill this kit! On the other hand, it's rated up to 2.3v, but we all know how easily D9 is...
