What are the differences between these UD3P and UD3Rs and say a DQ6 version P45 motherboard? Just curious if the DQ6 is any better or the r or the p?

UD3P is DDR2, UD3R is DDR3, the DQ6 is more expensive (usually) and the consensus is that it is not up to par with the UD3P/R in terms of 24/7 clocking ability for quads

Well sorry, I meant the other one that just has a different letter that is a little cheaper that has ddr2, I would have to look but its ok. The main thing I was wanting to know was what you just said. I was getting the impression that this was the case with the DQ6 from reading around as well. I might grab one of these, my motherboard is crippling my CPU right now and it kills me a little inside more and more every day.

    The regular UD3R is DDR2.

Which one is best? I need Raid by the way. Thank you for your opinion. \

Edit: To late I ordered the P version and said hell with it. Higher overclocking heaven~ here I come.

Indeed it's the T that makes it DDR3 or not
    EP45 UD3P : DDR2

The only difference between the regular P and the R is the P has 2 PCIE 2.0 slots and the R only has one. The ep45C-ud3r on the other hand has both ddr2 and ddr3 slots.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and i apologize for my english but i'm italian not my fault anyway lol

I have a question to the "Batch Experts". I just ordered a Q9550 SLB8W with this batch "L847C200"

Could someone tell me what can i expect in oc with this batch? is it a good or bad one? i'm still a bit confused about this batch story...

    thx all

PS: congrats to Vivid for his amazing results

I'm not a "Batch expert" lol , but you can check your VID using CoreTemp:
-If your VID is lower than 1.2000v (lowest in this thread is 1.1375) then you're having a golden batch CPU .
-If your VID is around 1.2500v, you're having a CPU.
Keep in mind that a high VID CPU doesn't always OC badly, some with high VID can OC very well (my old E6600 with 1.325 VID can make 3.6Ghz with stockfan), but this case is rare .

    /My Q9550 L848C310 1.2125VID is now running at 450*8.5=3825Mhz 24/7 completely stable with 1.2250v in BIOS (1.2000v in CPU-Z).

I know how to check the VID with CoreTemp but i ain't got the cpu with me yet that's the reason why i asked.. im thrilling to know if my batch is a good or bad one

I already have a Q9650 L845B562 that make 4ghz with 1,3v but im not so satisfied about it so i'm looking for luck with this new Q9550 L847C200 and in case the "baby" will do it better i think im gonna sell my Q9650

Your cpu rocks for me i guess u can reach 4ghz staying under 1,3v (thats my aim)

today finishing testing and results is :

I belive,4Ghz too izzi for this chip, but my mobo is not good for quad 45nm.
465 FSB is good result, and it not a limit, but I dont want raising too much volt fot NB.
BTW, what temp is critical for NB? now I have 64'C at peak load, is this good or not?
Temps for chip is not more, than 79'C at LinX,Prime95 at 65-67

Have a new board to play with, trying the EP45 DQ6. Ran some blend on 2 cpu's. Was able to get stable on the same vcore load with both cpu's on this board as on my UD3P. Only thing i dont like is this board does not have LLC so need higher idle voltage because of vdroop. My main goal was to try for higher max oc but in w7 64bit it is a real pain above 543fsb.

4350mhz prime blending on the dq6 board. Sorry for the tiny ss but I am on xp and have no snipping tool. 4350mhz 1.360vcore pl8 turbo 5:6 divider. I hate xp but want to use it to try for higher max validation.

I thought the DQ6 Dual Quad 6 is the High-end version of GBT and it doesn't have LLC ? Strange

I was told it is junk compared to the UD3 boards when it comes to overclocking so, I am hoping this holds true for me as I am getting the UD3 I ordered today. Other wise I wll be sending this one back and getting one of those.....

It isn't junk, the thing I dont like is it has no LLC so you will need more vcore set in bios to allow for vdroop/vdrop. I have been able to reach the same stable oc's with this q9550 and my q9650 with the same load vcore and other voltages on this DQ6 as on my UD3P. It is actually a higher end board but I think the UD3P/R are a better value. My main reason for getting this board was to shoot for higher max oc, I believe this is a better benching board but for 24/7 use I would probably go with the UD3P/R. I am back in Windows 7-64 running blend at the same settings with a more clear ss. Will let this run for a few more hours to be sure it is stable.
