Am I the only one that thinks $330 for a new board seems kinda high? When the X58 or whatever comes out they will probably cost $400++

Well I would say the 790FX but coming into it with the knowledge that Phenom with the errata bug will be present for a couple of months but I am quite sure that $179.00 6200+ will scream in the board indeed

It will be interesting to see how this board performs with 2x2GB modules. Either 4 or 8GB of memory and Vist64 will most likely be my first configuration.

Kind of a loaded question but how optimistic do you feel about the Cell Shock dilemma in this board John?

I think clocks and voltages will be alright for 5-5-5 but don't think anything will change concerning 4-4-4. Ashame really.

The evercool chipset cooler does not fit on the P35 version, so I doubt it will fit on this. There is a small component right above the sb heatsink that interferes with any round chipset cooler. I ended up getting aone of these:

    http://www.svc.com/cnb-s1l.html

Yes, it's passive, but it was a perfect fit and it's solid copper. It cools a heck of alot better than the stock aluminum one does.

New ETA for the UT Version on motherboardpro is now 20.December,
I still don't know if I shall laugh or whine :/

Problems with their new planned heatpipe or what the heck caused the delay?? Board seems to be ready or why will the LT version come earlier??

Knowing DFI, this board will be awesom IMO and we will see a nice perfromace increase over what we have seen from the other X38 boards so far

Would be nice. But can't expect miracles with the X38 chipset. To date, there has been no X38 DDR2 board released that has justified switching from a P35 board other the x16 on the second PCI-E slot.

I believe just the cooling but I cannot make direct comparison to P35 LT on my end to confirm but thats supposed to be the only difference!

Personally I would buy the UT Version on my end because the stock cooling on the UT P35 is killer vs spending 45.00- 60.00 in after market cooling

    Same here.

LOL I was just reading the Abit IX48 MAX thread & most of the posters there are dead against heatpipes...... then again they probably never had the pleasure of one that actually worked.

Its a shame the UT is going to be delayed I fear it may miss my hard earned if x48 is out with other manufacturers

    Without running crossfire or DDR3 what's the benefit of going to X38? As I understand, performance-wise X38 = P35.
