    Question Asus M3a79-t Deluxe + X-Fi Fatal1ty Champion + Vista 64bits SP1

Hi all, this is my first post arround here, just want to congrats all the people that make this usefull tool and all the users that participate.

I got a question about the new ASUS 79FX + 750 mobo, I`m going to buy one but i want to make sure that it can hadle my X-Fi on Vista 64. I used to have a ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi wich is a great Mobo, but unfortunately the X-fi doesn´t work, it sound very weird. So the point is that i want to be sure Before Buying the Asus M3a79-t Deluxe for my 9850BE that the X-fi card really works on this mobo.

If any body here has this setup or a X-fi card to test with the Asus M3A79-T, please Let me Know, i´ll really appreciate that.

    BTW my components are:
    AMD Phenom 9850BE
    OCZ Reaper OCZ2RPR10664GK 4Gb 1066mhz 5-5-5-18
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Champion Edition, With Front Panel Module
Visiontek ATI Radeon 4870 512mb (NO CROSSFIRE)
    All other normal Stuff.

Thanks for your help, and will wait for any answer.

Yes, i have updated to last BIOS and nothing, my X-fi Doesn´t work on this motherBoard (M2A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi). I have tested the sound card on a MSI K9A Platinum and works perfect. I have Tested on other Brands and works.

The reason i want to check the compatibility on Asus M3A79-T is because i always have used Asus Brand for AMD Procesors Since Nforce2 Chipsets and because the New SB750 + 790FX is the convination for Phenom 9850-9950 BE.

Please Let me Know if you or someone else can test this Enviroment (M3A79-T+ Creative X-Fi). Let me know.

    Thanks

ASUS really isn't a good player in the AMD world these days. Their BIOS is pretty weak. Nice boards otherwise though. I especially like the PWM section on the M3A78-T (790GX version of your board). It stays nice and cool under high load--much cooler than an MSI K9A2 Plat.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Just curious...but what is the point in using those? Creative's last batch from July work flawlessly (finally). Do Daniel K's add any functionality? I understand using them prior to the last Creative release as everything prior was broken.

the K drivers were to get old creative cards to work in vista. they still work even without these drivers just would loose some functions.
