program that tells memory chip type

Hi, i want to find out if the crutial ballistx that i have are micron chips, they are double sided and the heat spreaders are on the chips very solid, so i don't want to mess with them.

looking for a program that can tell me the brand of the chips..

    thanks in advance.

Your best bet would run them @ 1200Mhz with 2.1volts Performance Level 5-6 and if they run like this they are MicronD9.

If they can't get near that speed you probably have a bad batch.

    Ballistix Micron 1200Mhz 2.1v PL5

Unfortunately you cannot tell what chips you've got unless you open them up and see with your own eyes.

If you decide that you must find out, be very careful when removing the heat spreaders. Sometimes the ICs are not attached that well and will come off if you apply too much for to the spreader. That is, of course, if they have used an adhesive.
