Doesn't seem like my Biostar I45 likes this kit too much, I can't seem to get them to even boot at DDR2-1300 whereas my Ballistix 8500 kit will at least do that. I may just have to pop them into my Maximus Formula.

Asus P35 chipset and dominators don't like each other a hell of a lot at high frequencies
try P45 in Asus or better yet Gigabyte P35/P45 which arguably clock these better than most boards

i remember doing some ridiculous CAS4 clocks on my P35-DS3P at like 640 cas4 while others were falling over trippin themselves on the wrong boards trying to stick past 600 with these kinds of sticks

    love the look of 'em

    good luck

What I don't understand is how everyone's ready to spend this much on DDR2...yet complain when good DDR3 is just some 20-50 bucks higher.

Sticks do look really nice though, but I just can't bring myself to pay for older tech...

The same reason ppl were still buyin BH-5 & co. when DDR2 was relatively new.
And because more ppl have DDR2 than DDR3 boards and kinda don't wanna get bothered with selling and advancing to DDR3 mobo and ram...Dominators were always expensive, and now DDR2 D9 if can be found are real cheap, significantly less than good DDR3.
@ChinStrap Not so sure for nV chipset man, haven't tried, just saying from my exp.

asus p35 will only do ~1100

it's odd, this board seems to max out around 1100 no matter the sticks.

im gonna throw them on 680i when i get some free time... like on thursday. i'll see what they can do then i guess.

if they roll good one 680i i might have to try a 780i out.

I got tired of fooling with the I45, it seems to like my Ballistix better anyway. Last night I put them in my Striker Extreme at stock settings just to test for stability, ran about 6 hours MemTest with no problems. Maybe if I'm feeling like it today I'll do some OC, I dunno. Stuff bothering me lately.

Those Dominators sure look nice I wish a local distributor had them for a decent price.

@ Shiranui - Were you worried they were dead/degrading?

Yeah, I'm kind of paranoid now after the Team Xtreem's rapid degredation so I wanted to make sure the sticks were okay.

Ah well good to hear they are ok, older ballistix are very tough sticks, and now, sadly, irreplaceable. I think that TG stick of yours must have been defective when purchased, I doubt your board could kill one that fast and leave the other stick perfect, but you were right to check & put your mind at rest.

Well, stayed up WAYYYY too late last night playing around with these sticks. Turns out, one of my sets was DOA - so I’m going to rma –

The set that does work is playing VERY nice with 680i – well I don’t know about very nice – but I’m up to 1300MHz stock voltage and timing.

This ram is giving me the best everest numbers I have ever seen. It’s kinda cool

    I love the boycott_gigabut_guy...
Love those faces on his msgs LOL! ...and he is right.

And yes, Gigabyte boards are in general not as good as ASUS or DFI. Sure they can sometimes put some good boards arround, like the EP45 Ex for exemple. But when Gigabyte has 1 good board, ASUS has 3 or 4...

ASUS Rampage EX is better then any Gigabyte x48 solution
ASUS Maximus Formula is better then any Gigabyte x38 solution
DFI LP UT P35 is better then any Gigabyte P35 solution

Not to mention nvidia chipsets, where gigabyte don't even play.
Maybe the Gigabyte p45 solution is the only that is beating the other brands, but that is it. That is all Gigabyte has.

In general, it works like this:

ASUS / DFI >>> Gigabyte >>> kids boards >>> MSI

I hope we all agree that MSI is just bad.

    boycott_gigabut_guy wins!

I found a DFI LT P35 T2R on ebay cheap, so the Tpower I45 is going back to the store. Maybe I can get some crazy clocks like zsamz_ ?
