I have been swinging back and forth between three options, T2RSB Plus, Rampage Extreme, and also considering the UD3P. It is such a hard call to make. I'd love a nice X48 DDR2 board to complement my P45's, I'd love a better P45 for some high FSB/ram clocks like radaja is pulling off, and I'd also love a proven X48 platform with great capabilities.

No problem. I didnt explain it very well, its 4:30am here and I'm half asleep, I think you knew what I was trying to say but I'll just clarify it anyway. You will have to run the entire 6GB at the voltage/timings the 2 x 2GB kit requires, as there is no way the 2 x 2GB kit will run the same settings your 2 x 1GB D9 kit can manage. Hopefully the modules will be compatible with each other and the board and you won't have any issues other than a decrease in speed and the need to run looser timings. If it works it will take a bit of tweaking to get right but if you're lucky it will work.
Merry Christmas to you too

It's good to see someone else running an NVidia board!
Which voltages did you use? ( vdimm, vNB )
You got a nice FSB speed, but you might want to work a bit on your timings. At least for a quick Everest bench command rate 1T could be possible. And you should be able to run 4-3-3-10, also try to lower your tRC as that's a nice way to boost bandwidth on 680i/780i.
Today I was playing a bit with my board too, but it's not behaving very well, vdroop is huge and I wasn't able to boot 3.6GHz ( I didn't want to set voltages >1.55 in BIOS ). I tried to get 1T stable at DDR2-1000, but even with scary NB volts and relaxed timings I didn't succeed.
The board is quite old now, maybe I will get myself a new board for Christmas like Cryptik.
However, I managed some nice runs at a lower CPU frequency, just playing with MemSet. I used two Crucial Ballistix Tracer 5300 modules ( 16FD2 ).

Next screen, read bandwidth and latency is a bit better:

I tried 5-3-3-12 at 600MHz, but didn't get it benchstable ( yet ), and ran out of time. I will try it again tomorrow!
I'm loving my new DX X48 T2RSB Plus, and it seems to love my Cellshock 8000 CAS4 kit
Looks like a nice board that dfi, i would love to try a x48 board. I have noticed that those nvidia 680i 780i 790i have amazing memory bandwidth, 790i looks like a good board to.
Lots of bandwidth does not mean the best performing system overall I would always stick with a intel chipset. I've found whatever the chipset lacks in raw bandwidth it makes up in other areas vs. other chipsets.

Ok i would like to see some side by side comparisons of the 790i all performances run agains a p45 and x48 i would love to see those results.

..Unfortunately, I cannot run 1T with my Ballistix at any speed ...I have a some Team and some Dominators for testing as well though..so maybe I will get lucky! ** I also, posted a 11.484sec 1mil with that screen shot.. timings at 4-3-3-5 ... tRC @ 10 ..tRFC @ 30. I was too busy trying to get 1st HWBot for E7400, I didnt bother to take full Read/Write shots in Everest.
BTW- I am loving the mobo so far..hoping to get this E7400 on DICE before the new year. *thumbs crossed*

I have a p45 now, im going to grab a 790i and run both boards thru all the test, and see what happens, im very curious, my guess is the 790i will beat the p45 in 90% of the test, we will see.

Thats what i thought, but i think the x48 and 790i would be very close.
Remember guys everest is only a synthetic bench, to really real world test the systems side by side, run some SPI32M benches
The 790i may outscore the P45 in read bandwidth (although it will also have lower write & copy bandwidth than P45), but this does not necessarily translate to better real world performance.

Your correct, but i believe the 790i will beat the p45 in super pi also, the 790i is a pretty solid chipset, unlike the old 780i, we shall see im going to pick up one tomorrow and start testing.
Hi all!
I'm using a DFI p45 board too!
I really love my cellshock C4:
Nice 1m pi run, my board wont come close to that time, i can barely break 10
Thxs!
My best Spi1 with tight timings!
Tk you all!
Yes, i will, of course, use the specifications of the 2x2 kitt ( someone can say, if they are Micron ? )

It all depends how everything is set up. I know I can get my P45 performing very similarly to an X48. Like I said masses of bandwidth to not mean the best performing system overall, there are far too many factors to be considered and adjusted to use something as linear as bandwidth and say "this system performs better because it has more bandwidth". Somebody could have less bandwidth, but more CPU speed, thus, the system with more CPU power would do better in a lot of CPU tests. Swings and roundabouts.

thxs radaja!
this thread is of great help for best tweak...
pvhk,it sure is.put it this way,up untill a year ago i had never owned or used a computer.i bought a compaq presario from walmart for 789$ full system, amd single core proccessor,(mon, keyboard, mouse).six 1/2 months ago i came across this website, and saw what people were doing with intel processors and decided to try and build my own system.thats all it took, I WAS HOOKED.after getting the hang of cpu OC.i decided to try this memory stuff.i bought some D9,and that was it ,I WAS HOOKED. and this thread helped out so much in the with my memory overclocking,as did many members,im sure they all know who they are.help which i greatly appreciate,Overclocking systems is very addictive, exspensive but at the same time highly rewarding and a whole lot of fun! thank you eveyone and have a happy holiday season.
