I think my OCZ D9 stick are just about to die. More and more problems with booting and and more and more voltage needed. Already 2,3v for startup. But still doing 650@2,56v
I do not have any read/write screens exept that one:

But, good news is that new (old) stick from ballistics tracers (.16FD3) are on the way What could I expect from those?

Stick your problem D9 in the freezer for 3-7 days then allow it to SLOWLY warm up to room temp. The colder the freezer the better

Definitely sounds like they're on the way out. They shouldn't need anywhere near 2.56v for 650 MHz everest/SPI1M stable, all my D9 kits do that on 2.2v, so maybe they weren't the best to start with? OCZ kits have never been top class though so in that context it makes sense.

If the Tracers you are getting are not degraded, expect very good things from them. They will be so much better than your OCZ ever were.

After some playing around with timings (and fitting my replacement XTC cooler ) I have concluded that my write speed is low due to the amount of cache on my CPU, this is just theory, but makes much more sence currently than saying its a difference in the P5Q series BIOS vs. the M2F. Perhaps somebody can verify that who has a wolfie and P5Q series board.

    I'll try that - thanks.

Those sticks were not so bad in the beginning. But bad thing is that OCZ is out of my friends list because on switching to Powerchips RMA would be pointless.

OCZ D9 based ram was never any good compared to Crucial, CellShock or TeamGroup anyway. They should just stick to making other stuff. So many times when people have issues with ram, or have D9 sticks that need 2.5v+ for 650MHz stable, it's OCZ.

Ditto. OCZ QC for memory is not very good, and as if to kick you while your down, their usually the most expensive. OCZ are fine for cheap memory (such as their PC85000 SLI kits) but I wouldn't go blowing a huge amount of cash on their supposed enthusiast memory, its just nowhere near as good as the likes of Cellshock or AxeRAM.

The D9 Reapers always seemed to get glowing reviews even in forums (I'm reminded of 3oh6's OC Report on the 9200 kit here), and my 8500 kit seems pretty good. 650MHz stable is pretty rough, can't expect that of every D9 kit.

Every D9 kit I've had has a least been able to POST 1300MHz, so I wouldn't say its too high expecting D9s to at least POST at that.

I have a few D9 kits I'm pretty positive won't post at 1300MHz, my CellShock 8000 C5 kit in particular.

Thats super craptacular D9s though. Kinda unfair comparing such lowend D9 kits expecting them to clock like nuts.

I wouldn't say they're "craptacular", it just proves that all D9 is not created equal. Some chips have a higher voltage tolerance and can clock higher.

It could also be the PCB which is definitely not BrainPower or Kunyu; the model# is M0561LA1 and as far as I can tell by Googling it's 6-layer. I guess Cellshock made a revision to the sticks later and switched to 8-layer PCBs...? Anyone with some current CS DDR2, what type of PCB do you have?

Still an unfair compatision. You knowingly bought those sticks in the knowledge that they would not be very good to clock with. Buy any two kits on the same "level", and indeed they wont be identical, but they will be similar.

New SS personal best for this CPU, 3.6GHz 1.58v. Don't think I will be raising vcore anymore, its on the edge for air.

You're being too general. You can't look at a kit that's rated for X speed and X timings and know beforehand how well it will clock, it's going to depend on the specific sticks you buy. There probably are some Cellshock 8000 CAS5 kits that can do 1300, just not mine.

According to the product description, mine are CS 8 layer. Same with my TG kits.

Where did you get the your CS kits PCB number? There's no writing visible on the PCB of my kits.

Very, very unlikely. There is not a lot of profit made in the production on most memory kits, and thus they have to be binned aggressively. I know this as I used to do some things for Mushkin so know a good amount about the ins and outs of what goes on "behind the scenes".
