    I have a date today.
If it pans out well I'll remember our anniversary FOREVER.

on that note I have a step brother who lost a lot of friends on that day and he had coffee in the WTC that morning.

    Goosebumps....

I will never forget where I was when I heard what had happened.

I was walking to spanish 3 in the hallway right by the 10-12grade office, about to turn the corner towards the 8-9th grade cafeteria.... Its still perfectly imprinted.

Definitely was a day that's permanently imprinted. I remember seeing a quick blurb on a plane hitting the WTC on the elevator advertising TV just as I was stepping out. When I got into the office everyone was huddled around the radio waiting for the next update. Most highrises in downtown Calgary were evacuated after a couple hours (voluntarily, but most oil companies I know sent their people home). Horrible, horrible day.

i was in 8th grade, so i got to school like 10-15 minutes AFTER it happened, but it's all we were watching throughout the entire school for 3-4 periods.

first period art really really sucked that day.

Starting about a week before I just start getting depressed. I have the same raw emotions today that I did that day back in 2001. I can remember vividly my entire morning that day and I will never forget it. RIP Greg and Tommy and everyone that lost their lives. Eventually justice will be had.
RIP Dad. I will miss you always.

I was watching the news when the first plane hit and it didn't seem real. There was speculation that it was an accident, but it was obvious - to me at least - that it was intentional. I think I saw the second plane as it happened. I had interviewed for jobs there but was always worried about something like that happening. I just figured I was being paranoid, but being paranoid doesn't mean that they're NOT out to get you. Sometimes I still think about the people who jumped rather being burned alive. It's enough to make you want to carpet bomb the entire mid-east with nukes.

Me too. Then later when they fell so did my jaw and my heart. It was totally surreal. I went to work downtown but suffice it to say we were all let go before noon.

I was sitting across from a guy in an Auditors Office at the time, where I worked. He had one ear of his radio headphones in. He then said that he just heard something had hit one tower. We were like WOW. WTF! Then he said about 60mins later... Another one just hit! It was that moment I knew it was no accident.

I look forward to when there is a POSITIVE day that burns in our minds like 9/11/2001 does. Perhaps when we're old we'll sit around and tell stories of when man set foot on Mars.

Or perhaps the day when the ITER reactor sustained a fusion reaction.

Those two events would change the world in MUCH more profound ways than did some thugs murdering thousands of innocent people.

Yep...but there comes a time when that doesn't work anymore. You can only kill and bomb so much.

The hate eventually extinguishes itself and all you're left with is emptiness and destruction.

Perhaps the more human thing to do is to turn the other cheek, withdraw, invest in what we do best (Hard Research, Aerospace and Banking to name a few) and become that shining city on a hill that Reagan saw us as, as opposed to the nearly paranoid, frenetic BFG toting psycho we've become. Of course we'd still keep the BIG stick in reserve in case anyone mistakes our new found graciousness for weakness.

Part of healing is not hating anymore.

I'll never forget this, nor how poorly the cumulative administrations of the developed world have handled themselves to bring this about then fail to clean house (theirs and the perpetrators) efficiently.

Tell her to also check out John O Callaghan (JOC). He's a little harder, but mixes his stuff up very well. Relatively new on the scene, and a favourite among listeners, and club goers alike. Recently I've been listening to a lot of DJ. Shah. I just love his belearic tunes, and of course Ali & Fila.
