    ATI Driver = Crash

I have an old socket A system that I just swapped the motherboards on. I just did an XP Repair install so it would boot on the new chipset. Everything is working fine except for the ATI Drivers. If I install them and reboot, the computer will usually crash within 5 minutes. If I uninstall the drivers, the computer will run with no problem at all, the display is just very choppy.

    It is an
    Athlon XP 1700
    Soyo SY-K7ADA V1.0 mobo
    512MB PC3200 DDR
x800 Pro AGP unlocked to 16 pipes
    Windows XP Home

In the past I have used this video card with this same mobo without any problems at all, so I know it is not a compatibility issue.

Sorry, can't do that. This is the security system computer and we don't have anything to back the data up to yet.

nope. I know that would fix everything, but since I cannot do that, I need some other options.

What do you mean pro? This board does not have AGP Pro, it has AGP Universal.

    You could ....
    1) Remove the platform drivers and re - install them. Driver cleaner would be the best way to un install.. otherwise an un install in safe mode could be done.
    2) Re-install the ATI drivers after that.
