This is a pre-release announcement for this upcoming product due for release early October 2008. The application uses a hybrid water-cooling & heat pipe cooling solution, which is an industry first in the field of VGA cooling. GPU cooling performance will be on par with the MCW60 Rev2 (using the same Pin Matrix Technology). This simple, yet effective design is expected to be reflected in the product street price.

This product is VGA model specific. The biggest difference compared to other solutions is the deliberate attempt to reduce wasted material, while preserving (actually enhancing) performance. This is costing us time to market since it requires more thought and resources, but should allow us to reduce cost of ownership.I hate full-cover blocks. I take it the ram sinks are somehow connected to the MCW60 block? As you say it's card specific?
If it wasn't, Swiftech could just design a new plate (the ram, mosfet, heatpipe contraption) for new cards and users keep the same MCW60 part.
If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.
water-cooled copper plate is one piece; it covers GPU, memory, and forms a manifold for the heat pipe. Common parts with the MCW60 are housing, hold-down plate and back plate. With the copper plate representing the majority of the product cost, there is little point setting up an upgrade path.
The key advantage of this solution is specifically to take advantage of the low housing cost (inj. molded).
oh, and one more thing: no aluminum in contact with coolant. sorry I forgot to mention this detail.
