Hello all,
I am looking for a guide on how to remove the stock heat sink on my 8800GTS G92. I want to clean it out and reaply thermal pads and grease.
Thanks for your help.

From what I remember, the only thing you have to do is remove all of the screws on the back with springs under them. There's also 2 (I believe) screws that hold it to the rear cover (on the back of the case area).
You may need to warm the sink up slightly with a hair dryer if its being stubborn to remove it safely.

It'll probably come off really easily, don't be afraid to pull a bit harder for it to come off. In any case, the cooler will come off before anything else on the card does.
As mentioned above, take off all screws with springs and then the two on the end. Don't worry about the small screws on the cooler itself or about the "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED" sticker.
Self-proclaimed and convincing.

I'm having a problem about removing the heat sink to. It's so tight even though i already removed all screws! I'm afraid that it may be broken if i'll make it harder to remove!
I have Gainward 8800GT.

Foxconn ROCKS!
It's just the thermal pads having a bit of residual suction (as well as the paste on the GPU plate).
Use firm, but gentle pressure and wiggle wiggle wiggle until it pops.

Intel's atom is a terrible chip.
As a friend said: "Gently, but with force."
