    That particular fet is the one that tends to burns only because half of the wattage the GPU chip eats flows through it.
    You were not supposed to see this.

    Sorry for your loass manufacturers should stop using cheap ty components that burn up this bad. I've never had a VC die on me in this way. Probably because I hear even one story of something like this I know there will be more - many more, just like it. So I opt for something different.

    It must be a fault on maybe just a few 8800gt because it looks like the same chip. Did you manage to RMA it btw?
