hey KET any chance of you modding up the new maximus 2 form bios or at least checking it for anything that would make the sata detection hang when configured in raid mode?? I have the file and would be willing to test.

Sorry no chance atm, my time is tighter than a chickens arsehole with christmas right around the corner Doesn't help I've just had to spend 13 (yes thirteen) hours setting up the puter I'm giving my parents for christmas, it had real teething problems. FYI I have done a little testing with 1611m on my P5Q Pro and it is AT LEAST equal to 703m so far

Well 1611 booted and so far so good, but its not been without hiccups.
BIOS 1402 got rid of the BSOD on boot, and 1611 seems to have reintroduced it.
Now, i usually get one of two BSOD's - 0x00000009C MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION or * HARDWARE FAILURE - PLEASE CONTACT YOUR VENDOR *
Now i'm getting 0x000000124 constantly.....ARRRRGH!
BIOS or Vista Issue? I've reinstalled Vista several times before, and still it does this crap. And right now, i'm running Orthos for stability and no problems so far. Sometimes it just doesnt want to boot, but if you turn it off and on enough times, it'll boot and be stable for days on end....

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.
Creationists don't mind being beaten in an argument. What matters to them is that I give them recognition by bothering to argue with them in public.
Hi !
I'd like to use these bios but I'm afraid. I heard advices from forums not to use unofficial bios.
Any advice ?
I have Asus-P5Q and Intel-Q9550.
please do something for P5Q-e maybe delux bios mod can help. because asus forget about P5Q-e bios releases

We fear what we do not know.
Sort of off topic, but to give an example.........if you go to any cooking website regarding the cooking of say a Pork Loin.......you will read that you MUST cook the meat to an internal temp of like 150 degrees or else you risk a sure fire death from tricinosis. ( exact temp and spelling probably difffer )
However, no one ever asks why? The TRUTH of the matter is this: If you cook it to USDA recommended temps, you will not have a pork loin, you will have pork toast. There are two things to consider....1) Tricinosis in pork was a very common problem WAAAAAAY back in the early days of our country when food processing was becoming it's own industry. Due to un-standardized ways of doing things, yes, it was a problem.
Jump forward to the year 2008, things in the food industry are a billion times cleaner, more efficient, and STANDARDIZED. Tricinosis today is extremely rare in pork.
2) The bacteria itself dies when it reaches a temp of around 132. (don't quote me on that but you get the point)
So with this knowledge, you can put 2 and 2 together. Very rare these days to run into tricinosis, combined with the fact that if you cook a loin to an internal temp of say 125, and let it rest, the temp WILL GO UP on it's own after pulling from the heat another 10 degrees.
125 + 10 = 135 = tricinosis dead......and you have a nice pink in the middle, juicy pork tenderloin. Not shoe leather.
There's nothing wrong with Kett's bioses. I've used them since the day after I got this board. Is it a risk? Yes and no. I would say there's a much better chance of screwing up your board simply by flashing your bios (REGARDLESS OF OFFICIAL VS UN-OFFICIAL bios)
KETT....Maybe you answered me before, but I'll ask again, is there a way to make the Bios Splash screen stay up longer?
I know that may sound like a silly question, but I made a custom splash screen and I like it, but it's gone far too quickly for my liking.
Intel P45 Chipset Via:
Asus P5Q-Pro

Its already been quoted twice, so I won't quote you again tompravi, just in case you start to feel "picked on"
As kartoff and concretefire have said, the chances of messing your mainboard up come from tinkering with various things and upgrading your BIOS (again, it does NOT matter if the BIOS is official or unofficial, the risks are the same) If you have a read of even the last 5 pages you will see these modded BIOSes do wonders for people, and 95% of the very, VERY few reports of a BIOS getting fubar'd in this thread can easily be put under the "bad flash" category. I shall openly admit there was a BIOS I made that did not swallow well on some boards, however that BIOS has long since been removed and now burns in the eternal flames of hell for its crimes.
So, it all comes down to the following; do you want to eek that extra performance and get additional bugfixes? If the answer is "yes", then these mBIOSes are for you
Concretefire; I don't think there is a way to have the boot logo display for longer, though if you want to look at the logo you could always hit the Pause\Break key on your keyboard, it'll halt the boot process and will only resume after you press the spacebar.

well im happy to say the 1802 bios for m2f work with raid!!!
Thanks for the new set, Ket. 1613m works great, only downside is that it needs +0,1v DRAM voltage to post when compared to 1501m (PRO memory table?).
Cool, did not know that.
Nother question sort of/sort of not involving bios. (BTW, I have P5Q-Pro too)
In the bios (official or yours) there are some options to enable a power on state via the keyboard.
However, I have a wireless keyboard / mouse. Does this matter? For some reason I just get the feeling that since mine are not "hard" wired, I cannot use these features. Got any pointers to get that stuff going? Thanks.

These 1611's have a new memory table, right?
I have a pair of G.Skill PQ 6400's (2x2gb), and i'm wondering if they could be causing 'issues'.

Sadly not, the Kb\mouse power-on options are for PS\2 only, USB and wireless will not work, which sucks.
As P4spooky said, check your memory, looks like the 1611s worst-case do not like your G.Skills, best case you need to adjust timings. I had a similar thing with my Cellshocks, so I settled on 703m for a long time, with 1611m I can do the same as with 703m, but any BIOS between was useless for me.

Jammy git I'm happy with my 3870 512s tho, give them a CPU that can cope with their throughput demands and they still play games like crysis maxed out If people want to experiment and let me know what mBIOS works best with their G.Skills I can tailor a 1611. (true I'm looking in your direction )

Hi!
Whichone is the best moded BIOS for P5Q, if it want to OC my RAM? What setting is needed to achieve the best OC? ( I mean these: static read control, dram read training, mem OC charger, AI clock twister, in transaction booster settings the pull in phases, CPU/ NB clock skew )
Its all subjective based on your hardware. We will need to know more details about your system before being able to say anything with some specifics.
