Does the modded 1306 bios for P5Q Deluxe bork Q9450/9550 like its official counterpart?

My mBIOS uses a custom P6 table, so theoretically it shouldn't bork any quad support, but as I don't have a quad I haven't been able to test this.

I love how this has gone from a question of if it did to absolute fact on this board. And all with no proof other than what one poster thinks. If this is a problem don't you think you would be able to do a Google and come up with some mention of it other than here. Why don't you guys quit trying to start Panic in every thread where the P5Q is discussed. It is getting old.

All I can say is I've happily messed with all the options for CPU margin enhancement on my E4400 and no option caused the system to not POST, but as this option may well narf some support with some quads I won't outright say anything else. The whole point in CPU margin enhancement is to provide (under intels recommendations) additional compatibility \ capability with lower-end C2Ds when going for high FSBs.

Upper level support management at Asus stated it is causing issues for the 9450. It doesn't seem to be causing issues with other Quads nor has it affected Dual cores. No panic causing here mate. Mine won't work with any newer revisions then 0803 any more.. Sorry bout that...

ANYWAY, my last post seems to have been wiped out by the database or something so, here it is this is where I decided to stay from now on because of temps and what not. Thank you again Ket for modding the 0803 for me ,

My lats are like 3 ns faster now because you fixed the pullins.

I can't seem to go into ezflash after i flashed to your bios. Does anyone have similar problem?

And also, anything after 803, I can't put my computer into Hybrid Sleep...it would sleep, but it won't come out of it.

Well i flashed to the Modded Bios 1306 and i finally ran strap 400 with PL10 with all Pullins enabled, not sure if this is good for 3.4ghz and TRFC 50, now i have no idead if it is stable with these RAM settings and such, but i hoping it will be.... ... anyhoo i waiting for my E8600 to arrive . so i just having fun now before this Q6600 goes to its new owner.

Latency is faster now as previously it was 74ns (before these new settings 3.4ghz) and @ 3.6ghz it was 70ns.

Anything you guys suggest i can try to get Higher Bandwidth without raising CPU speed.

wow...here is my feedback for 1306m on deluxe

while it still gets 1333hz from system with 1200hz in bios for either pair of gskill 1G*2 when strap at 400, but this mbios does an improvement for the stability for ram on 1200hz from system (bios 1203) when strap at auto.

might be my special board issue with 400 strap as above. obviously, well done Ket, cheers for the improvements.

Are you saying when you set DDR1200 in bios, it results in DDR1333 in reality? If so, if you keep increasing the ram speed, when does it eventually give you what you set?

Also what motherboard do you have?

Once I set 1200 (using any strap or FSB), I can't POST (haven't tried setting ~2.3v vdimm which is what my ram needs for 1333) but when I get to 1277 it suddenly POSTS again. Anything between 1277 & 1300 is ok but unstable, and over 1300 is more stable, until my ram tops out, and anything under 1199 is also fine. I have not seen anyone else have similar behaviour so that's why I'm interested.

    yes u r right. I only tried 1066 and 1200 so far....as mentioned p5q deluxe

Issue 1 -> @400 strap 2.02v in bios for ram on 1200hz will boot into windows and showing 1333hz
Issue 1 -> @Auto strap 2.22v in bios for ram on 1203hz will boot into windows and showing 1203hz

Issue 1 has better ram performace read from everest than issue 2.

Glad the mBIOSes are working good out in the wild I'm frequently checking my 3 sources for any new betas but there doesn't appear to be any at this time. If anyone happens to come across a new set of betas for the P5Q series post a link in this thread or shoot me a PM or something.

You say P6 table what is that? Is the CPU Enhancent thing still in there? If not that would be awsome because then I could use it.

Just for the hell of it I tried to get ddr2 9600 1200Mhz for the hell of it and I am running it right now. I have it running oon the 266 I think that's what it is and 1201~ something like that. I'm amazed. I backed down all the settings though like it is running on lighter and PL 10. I will try to get it tightened up as much as possible now and post the results with it as tight as possible.

You want more memory bandwidth? This is easy. Using MemSet and Everest, open MemSet and push the Performance Level up 1 notch. Currently it's at 10, and Asus set this very conservatively. Test it at 9 in Everest memory benchmarks.

Keep dropping it to a lower number and test again. At some point your Windows will freeze, so you'll need to reset the PC manually. At this point, enter BIOS and change the Performance level to the last stable number that worked. This is changed under the "AI Transaction Booster" setting.

Can you make an entire custom Bios without using Asus's Bios at all for the P5Q Deluxe?

That would take quite some time, plus I don't have access to all the tools the Asus devs have in order to do so.

I think it is yes. I had to pump 2.4v to get it though. It shows I can run that new G-Skill 1200 pi stuff though.
