Here you go guys, mBIOS for P5Q Pro, based on beta 1306. P5Q 1306 mBIOS is in the works, as are all others. This particular mBIOS for the Pro has the memory table from the P5Q Premium 1306 BIOS, as well as all other changes in previous versions.

    P5Q Pro mBIOS 1306

The Deluxe BIOS works pretty well compared to 803. Seems to have fixed some RAM OCing issues, I had trouble getting my Redline PC-8000 sticks to go over DDR2-1000. Seems to be pretty stable, I'll try for 3.6GHz later tonight.

Can you make me a special one based on the 0803 because I can't use newer then 0803? I have fallen victim to the CPU Margin Enhancement bug with the 9450 I have. If you want me to run it by you I will but, alot of details to it. I have been wanting to do this myself. I would love to know what you use to do this.

Thanks very much for your efforts Ket, it is very much appreciated.

I am at my wits end with my P5Q-Deluxe, it is hands down the worst motherboard I have ever owned. I have exhausted my knowledge trying to get it to remain stable, I get it stable finally, then 2 days later I get massive errors, and no post at the same settings I was previously stable at. I also cannot post when I set my ram to 1200 - 1277, but I can post at 1199 & 1277+ and even did some benches last night at DDR 1333. It is behaviour I have never seen on any other boards. I can be almost fully stable at given settings, then reboot, and it fails to post, and will not post until I clear cmos. Then I can re-do all the settings it just failed to post at, and it will suddenly post again and be kind of stable. Very erratic behaviour to say the least.

If I can't make any headway, I may try your mod bios, but I guess it voids warranty and makes RMA impossible. Also because you have changed the boot logo it would be immediately identifiable that I was running a mod bios. Any chance you could re-do the P5Q-Deluxe bios but just leave the boot logo as the original one? It would make the bios a lot 'safer' for people to use.

People can flash to and from these mBIOSes easily and Asus will be none the wiser. If you read all the small print carefully you will notice that manufacturers even say your warranty is void if you use one of their own beta BIOSes! Its all moot though and I dare say as longs you don't mention its a modded BIOS on the board the RMA center won't care as Asus tend to send people beta BIOS versions anyway who are having a lot of issues. Don't worry about the boot logo either, Asus provide software for the user to change the boot logo, so thats something else they won't even care about.

Yeah I know the beta's void the warranty.

I was wondering what the difference is between the Deluxe BIOS and the Premium BIOS is concerning memory? What is it that makes the Premium's memory table superior to the Deluxe's? I thought the premium only had extra features, and would overclock etc the same as the Deluxe.

** P5Q Deluxe went official a day or so ago, I tried it out yesterday.

Well, thats where things get interesting with Asus. I won't go into full details for the sake of saving my fingers, but in a nutshell Asus don't use one big memory table on their boards, depending on the "rank" of the board in any particular series governs the amount of memory modules that are compatible with the board. What makes things worse is even if you go out and buy the P5Q Premium the memory table still isn't quite complete, although you do get some 90%~. For example, if you look at the QVL for PC8500 on a P5Q Pro your limited to 14 modules, but on the Premium that figure is a mind boggling 46!

Despite claims of DDR1200 on lower end P5Q boards, without a modded BIOS I think its an impossibility to reach those speeds and faster. This is because part of the memory table is missing on lower end P5Q boards that allows the board to "step up" to ultra high frequencies. So as people have asked me when wanting to know in a scentence what my mBIOS is like, for any board below the Premium I would summarise it as a P5Q Premium and a little bit.

Right, so it's just the compatibility and support of more modules that is the difference, and the overclocking ability etc is identical? If my ram is already running fine on the deluxe (well it runs, but I have had a lot of issues and I'm not sure of the cause) would there be any reason for me to use your mod bios?

Also, are Team Xtreem 8500's or Cellshock PC 8000's supported in the Premium memory table?

    Thanks.

Some Team modules are listed for the Premium in the QVL yes. Whereas for the Deluxe I don't recall seeing any listed. The aim of my mBIOS is to improve the board all-round as I myself was disgusted at the state Asus let the P5Q series out the door in. Even if you think your OC is good theres no harm in using my mBIOS, I have not had a single report saying their OC has diminished, and more often than not have had many users stating a 200MHz CPU OC improvement and vastly improved memory compatibility and clocking.

Thank you because I litteraly can not go above 0803 here.. Until their engineers in taiwan send me one that has been modded for my setup. I don't know when that will be though..

positive. original bios was fine except for some boot screen weirdness. Now I'm limited to 1:1 400 strap for 900 mhz 450x9. If I change the GTL settings on either the cpu or the nb, I get insane instability.

I'd dl this bios in a heart beat...except I'm not into installing a dl manager the provided links force us to use.

Doing 5 different BIOS versions wasn't the original plan, but people kept bugging me to do the BIOS on their particular P5Q board, so now I just do all 5

Didn't you do the modded 1950 BIOS as well? You are seriously awsome.

Hmm.. I get 1068Mhz (it does boot up to 1120Mhz but with compromised stability) stable mem speed with my P5Q wich I think is good considering that I use cheap G-skill PC6400 memory. Should I expect better results with this bios or is the fix only for systems that don't boot at all?
