Having some difficulties OCing my 3800+ x2

So, im a newb to OCing, and i was trying out a few things with my 3800+ x2, because i wanted to get it up to 2.4ghz for daily use.

I upped it to 2.1ghz without many issues, but anything past that, and the system becomes unstable.

should i up my memory voltage higher than the 2.7v that ive got it at now?

and what timings would you guys recommend?

also, i tried running a 5:4 divider, but the board wouldnt post, so im giving up for the night, and ill work on it tomorrow.

but, please point me in the right direction, i really want to figure all of this out, and learn how to properly overclock my rig.

    Thanks

btw, specs are in my sig. ive got the latest Bigtoe modded BIOS.
I think i also set the vcore to 1.35v in the bios and added the VID +4% setting, so its showing it as 1.45v in the system.
should i lower that to 1.4v?

i'would bet on board cause that odd dividers are part of nf2/i875 world (some via mobo maybe)
anyway with that much info you gave up thtas pretty much it
i see that's wannabe s939 platform, thankfully on sAM2 that weird settings are more like user oriented so you have to set 400/533/667/800 (and 1066 on AM2+) and mobo/bios that sends to cpu that adequately sets the divider.

For example on entry level 3600+/3800+ x2 cpu/7 for 533mhz, cpu/6 for 667mhz and cpu/5 for 800mhz memory well the same principle should be actual for all k8 board but it seems that some bios makers stick to old kind of bioses more similar to intel pre-core2 boards

As for the memory tmings the lower is the better and cl2-2-2-5-1t@400-450MHz should be reachable with most overclocker's kits ST cl2, OCZ platinum/gold ....
But in fac not worth the all the fuss with cheap ddr2 lying around and some entry level e7200 from intel or even that almighty 9150e am2+
