What should I put in my loop

I've seen a lot of different suggestions.

I have been using FluidXP black and red in my two loops, but I think I am going to just go with clear distilled when I redo the loop. I don't use UV, but rather red cold cathode lighting.

I've got some PT Nuke on the way, which is a biocide, but I have read about anti-corrosion agents. The problem being that they eventually cloud the tubing.

My question is, what should I add to my distilled water besides PT Nuke and how much of it should I add?

If you are running a copper only loop ( CPU , Rad , GPU , ect... ) nothing. I run just distilled water & 1 drop of PTNuke per liter of water.

x2, I have run most every other configuration, from UV dye, to pre mixed fluids, anti freeze, etc.

No performance gains from any of them, but A LOT of headaches from gunk, build up, cloudy tubes, etc. Just keep to distilled and pt nuke.

I wish I listened to everyone here instead of learning that lesson the hard way.

Scroll threw the next few pages and read the post's "What is this in my loop / res / block / tube. All of them are running some sort of additive that is not necessary.

Distilled water + a bit of copper ii sulfate (pt nuke) + a small amount of glycol for anti-corrosion (if you have mixed metals).

    Nothing else.

+1 to Distilled+PT Nuke+nothing else. I've tried other additives in the past, as well as fluid XP which was complete crap. No blockages or anything since I've cleaned everything off and used only Distilled and Pt Nuke.

By mixed metals you mean aluminum and copper/brass, I suppose? All my blocks are copper and I believe the rad is brass. The fillports are Delrin and the barbs are nickel plated brass.

Brass & copper are ok to mix, right? It's just when you bring aluminum into the mix that you have problems, no?

    Thanks guys for the help.

I guess I'll just go with PT Nuke and distilled in my loop then.

If you need bling, Fesser has come up with some nice colored tubing and UV I think too. IF I ever wanted to bling my loop I'd really go that way.

If you have a standard WC rad, block, pump, all you need is distilled and a few drops of PT Nuke. Which is some copper liquid that nothing would ever grow in. The bottle lasts for tons of loop redos. I bet Petras sells gallons of it every week to 100's of WC. Best thing they ever came up with. Funny thing is I can prolly buy the chemical (right on the bottle) for $100 and make myself 1000 bottles at $5, $.30 for the plastic bottle. Buy why when it's cheap and Petra has it already?

You should still every 6 months min tear it all down, open each part, scrub it clean, wipe the tubes out, re-rinse the rad etc. Two days tops to do it all or so, but no worries it's a hobby, it should be fun! I love taking my GPU out in all it's massive power, taking off the WC block, cleaning it all again and opening the block, scrubbing it all with a brush and ketchup, and putting it all together. Putting the Suseki TIM tape on the GPU parts is a pain, it takes another Jack n Ice to make it right.

Sure I miss my PC gaming for a few days, but it's kinda fun, and I know it's at top 150% performance.

And I'll replace my tubing once a year because i want to. I love hobbies.
All stock for now, no need for more, but it's gonna be soon methinks.
