If they have the "N" marking behind the bar-code, then they are D9.

Yes, there was an official statement that both AxeRam and JetRam 2x2Gb kits with N marking are D9 ones.

It's not Micron of any kind.

It's PSC, like 97% of all higher end 2x2 GB DDR2 kits.

That's some U3 revision. If it has N marking it's D9. Not sure if 2x2Gb kits have D9GMH or D9GKX or w/e but N=D9 with Transcend rams.
    Rather rare, but possible.

No such thing as Micron RevD chips being on a 2GB module; they're only 64MB ICs. You'd have to fit 32 of them on a stick to get 2048MB!

Just found out, seems there are new revisions of 8500 AxeRam. Marking is TX1066QLU-2GK and they also have new letters behind the bar-core so it seems that even 2x1Gb kits are no longer with D9.
One thing left now is Cell-Shock and i assume even that will run out pretty soon.
So prepare your D9 stash quickly.

I think eva2000 found out some D9 were placed on 2x2Gb Ballistix, not sure though which one. There is a separate topic on this.

D9GMH/GKX = EOL = dead, extinct, not to mention never ever on 2 GB DIMMs.

In the thread about the Crucials, we learned that the new Ballistix use a new type of Micron, possibly D9JKH.

Definitelly, and these modules are single-sided.
The new Axeram isn't with Micron D9GMH chips anymore (as Mad Skills said - greetings to him).

On the 2x2GB Axerams are binned Powerchips, as I read.

D9 or not, this topic was about the 4GB AxeRam Kit not about which brand was using D9 correct?

As im finding out myself, if you want (2x2) 4GB - PC8500, ur very limited in choice, and in 99.99% you wont be able to get D9, so maybe its time to figure out whats the next best thing after that? Looking at seth's minireview, this memory -even with with powerchips- is a good performer. Its strange that no-one else has picked up these sticks, or does nobody really know about them?

Compared to the 4GB PC-8500 kits from OCZ(reaper) and Corsair(dominator) is Axeram the better choice?

Most of the 2x2GB high-end RAM's are "equipped" with Powerchips. Some of them are binned for higher speeds.
The Axeram's are good choice, but check the new G.Skill PI's, too.

    Greetins mate.
Yes, G.Skill and Dominators 2x2Gb kits seem to overclock pretty well, perhaps the best choise when going 4Gb kits.

I see, the Gskill PI actually has a little higher rating, PC2-8800 - very nice, I like!

I currently have a set of PC2-6400 OCZ Reaper series, and I like the looks of the heatspreader, maybe I should transfer them onto the other mem when I get it hihi

Nothing to figure out really. It's been figured out long ago.

PSC (Powerchips) have been the best choice for 2x2 GB DDR2 kits basically since they started coming out.

Even the old D9GSV/HBD Mushkin used back early 2007 on their 2x2 GB kits doesn't come close to how well PSC does.

    Not really.

If you pay attention the results people get with their 2x2 GB PSC kits, 550-575 is pretty much the norm for higher binned ones, or even a bit higher for the best.

Your OCZ kit (assuming it's a 2x2 GB one) is PSC also...unless you get unlucky, 500-525 is usually doable for the lower binned PSC at least.

    My Mushkin is DDR2-800 4-4-4...

I've tested all the 4 DIMMs separately, & the worst one does around 540; best one around 563.
Mine is older PSC too; i got my kits before most people even were buying 2x2 GB kits.
Newer stuff tends to do even better.
