    HD4870X2: Maze 4 + D-TEK GFX - Possible ??

    Hi all ,

I'm going to buy a Saphire HD4870X2 (one Card Two GPU's) and i have Few Questions.

I Already have The Blocks Below:

Danger Dan Maze 4 (for GPU): http://www.geekextreme.com/content/view/9676/20/

    D-TEK GFX (for GPU ): http://www.sharkacomputers.com/dtekfuziongfx.html

    1. Can i Put this TWO blocks (MAZE4 & D-TEK GFX) on the 4870X2 ???
    2. Will they Fit in this Dual GPU Card ???
    3. is ther something else i should COOL in this Card (except of RAM) ??

    Thanks ,

They "should" fit your card but would not recommend this application. I really suggest a FC block for this card as it has the PCIe switch (between the two GPU's) that should be cooled and the mosfets of 4870's have shown to fail without proper cooling.

You can get FC blocks from Danger Den, EK, Aqua Computers, and Koolance right now and can not go wrong with any of them.

I know that Buying Full Cover is better bt i already have these TWO Blocks.

    1. what can i put on the PCIe Switch (the Bridge between the Two Gpu's) ???
    2. Should i put on the Maze4 Gpu on Left Core and the D-TEK GFX on the Right GPu or is it the Opposite ??
    3. Ram heatsinks i already have .

Waiting for the Expert's Answers .

1: You can just slap a small heatsink on it.
2: Don't think it matters if they fit.

    I saw someone do this a while back with 2 MCW60s on a 3870X2. I'd say it's at least worth a shot.

Why not just pick up another used maze 4?
You can also use the factory heatspreader for the memory and PLX chip

keep in mind the bolt pattern on a Maze 4 will not fit an X2... the hole spread is tighter.

They simply will not fit. Gabe has stated that swiftech should be releasing an adapter plate to make the MCW60 rev1 and 2 fit on the 4870x2. But the fuzion gfx blocks and DD blocks will not fit. Other than the MCW60 with the soon to be released adapter plate, your only hope is a full cover block.
