2 or 4 sticks of ram?

So I have heard that having 4 sticks of ram can lower your oc potential with a quad, due the NB having to work harder.

Is this true? Anyone experienced this?

I'm considering dropping in another 4gb's or ram, but I am concerned about my fsb. I don't want the max to go below 450.

depends how high you wanna go n depends on the board
4 sticks will limit you
i can do 510fsb runnin 1220mhz with 4 sticks on dfi x38 i havent really tried to push more
on gigabyte x38 i couldnt get past 800mhz stable
