Admittedly, I have QX9650, C0, But I can guarantee that you need some tweaking, or it's teh cpu, not the board, as this board has provided more FSB than any other I have tried so far, ever, for 45nm quad.

I can easily boot into 460FSB, but I have not done much work on stability yet(this is P05 bios):

guys its not my cpu/tweaking.. its not my first GTL settings mobo..

right now its in even worse shape.. cant even boot @ os @ 3600 450x8 only 400x9

why does the cpu run rock stable @ 4050 450x9 on the dfi dk x48t2rsb+ ? albeit @ .05 higher vcore than on mars but without any GTL tweaking

anyways.. ill be getting another blackops.. hope not all blackops are the same as this one

But seriously... no one can tell in advance. It all depends on the quality of the chip and the quality of the person that overclocks

'Tis more than possible that auto values in DFI bios are higher than blackops, and actually, that's what I'd point a finger at(i think Ace-A_Rue agrees with me). This is why you must never overclock on auto settings...how can you know what's wrong, if you do not know what's set?

This is not a slant directed at you, but at mobo makers. The whole label of "AUTO" should no be so...it creates more confusion than is needed! If you knew GTL values of both boards, and that they were the same(personal experience from overclocking the boards myself tells me that they are not), maybe you could sort the issue.

Read-to-write delay is also quite tight on this board, and affects ram clocks, so much so that my ram is NOT stable @ jedec timings, because the board ignores some SPD info.

My vid is 1.25 as well...I haave no issues running the CPU at stock speeds with 1.8 though...I got it to 460 on my Maximus II Formula and it hit 500 on the DFI P45 Dark Plus...I'm in the process of setting that board up in my case and theen I will work on it thoroughly for stability...I prefer it over the Maximus II Formula hands down by the way.

i did a pipe mode with bolts and nuts along with upgraded TIM paste...i believe it was just the bios code that was holding it back...i am not sure if Biostar will correct that issue; otherwise, the board does wonders with a dual core!!

Was wondering if anyone needed to adjust the CPU Clock Skew to reach 4GHz? Don't seem to see any mention of it in quad o'cing unlike the dualcores.

Good morning guys, yesterday I eventually came to a:

    • FSB 400
    • 9x
    • V.Core 1.30
    • V.Dram 2.0
    • Ram Frequency: 1600 Mhz with 1:2 divisor
    • Timings: 7-7-7-20
    • All the rest on [auto]

Which settings should I work on to get to a stable FSB 450 x9? What about VTT and GTL? Any suggestion on those and on the motherboard's tensions? VID is 1.2500V, batch L822B348, pack date 08/13/2008.

    Thanks !

my above quote says so...a quad is very hard to get to 500 fully stable at 8x...i could get there into windows and it was functional but like i said benches were the problem.

    Batch # L820B036
    Pack date 31st July
    Vid 1.250V

    Hi,

This is the max I can get stable on air (hits 78C on dual orthos load), but to be honest I only got there last night so I have only run orthos for an hour, the night before I just went to 4.275gig and I ran orthos for 2 hours stable but am having some problems with my board/memory ATM so things are a bit hit and miss!

Anyone know why my realtemps isnt sensing core's 2 and 3?

    Thanks
