Lets see those results guys! (if you have one....)

Sorry my macro didn't grab this one all that well :\
    Batch#: L820B036
    VID: 1.2500v

Here is mine after only a few hours messing around. It went right to 3.6 ghz at default settings

Looking good mate... hope you can bring that vcore a bit more down with some tweaking... Is that watercooled ? Temps look really loooooooooooow
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

1.25v VID eh? Looks like even MAX VID chips are pretty good.

For this chip being at 3ghz stock it may be that intel is more conservative with the VID ratings, lord knows they dont always set the minimum.

also, my mobo defaults the VID to 1.245 when set to auto in BIOS, its possible that my VID is being read wrong from coretemp... either way, it doesn't seem to be any indication of a poor overclocker

Very nice ;>> Looks like a solid chip guess it will be the first 45nm chip I consider worth buying to play with. Hows the voltage vs efficiency curve on your chip>?

thanks man, im still working with what appears to be an FSB limit at the moment (x38 is iffy with quads at 460~), the processor can still go higher at 1.376 for sure

Since I still appear to be the only one with the balls to buy this proc so far, here's another benching screenie, enjoy

I haven't played as much with lowering voltages yet, but when I ran the proc at auto settings (VID special add: 100.23) it did 400x9 1hrOCCT stable... pretty good for 1.25volts

    Awesome results so far mate.
Q9650 is out of my budget range. Do you think the E0 stepping is helping with the overclocking or just the multiplier?

I want to get an E0 Q9550 and try to get it to 4GHZ.

Right now I am hitting an FSB limit, although I think a major part of that is this x38 chipset, a little more tweaking should get me where I want to be. Currently I am at 456x9 2hr OCCT stable, if I go to 457x9 I cant even make it into windows before crashing

what is this "air cooling" you speak of?

right now I'm at idle 29C and it loads at 42C (ambient 24C).

1.376V with 4107 mhz gives me 156watts heat output (via calculator) that should mean what I am doing is viable on a good air cooler

in other news, my system scores P16716 /// x7903, take that 4870x2

These are awesome chips, I recommend it to ppl with deep pockets or desperate 4Ghz . Bought recently from newegg, very nice stepping

    Manual MX-2 TIM spread...

Hot chip...using TRUE120 unlapped with washer, base of heatsink becomes very warm and I rechecked contact twice.
