    Talking Finally e8600 Q820A599 @5Ghz 32M Pi on H20 !

I could barely reach Super Pi 1M @5027Mhz at 1.552v on Gigabyte EP45 Extreme with Dtek Fuzion + Thermochill HE120.3 H20. Higher vcore didn't help. But Swapping to DFI UT X48-T3RS with just Corsair Nautilus 500 H20, managed to pull off 3dmark benching @4.9+ Ghz and even Super Pi 32M at 5Ghz which was my immediate goal to begin with when i purchased a few E8600 Q820A599 cpus

Cpu scaled slightly better on DFI UT X48-T3RS even though water cooling setup was no where near the power Dtek Fuzion had. Bumped up vcore to 1.575v bios which came in around 1.568-1.584v idle with 0.016v-0.032v droop. This allowed to me pull off 32M @5003Mhz, 1M @5075Mhz and CPUZ Validation @5186Mhz (but cvf file didn't work so 5146Mhz screenie).

    CPUZ Validation @DDR3-2058
Probably limited a bit by FSB ceiling as well as cpu cooling

    32M

    1M

    3dmark05 @4980Mhz

3dmark2001 didn't want to complete at 4980-5000Mhz so had to drop down to 4950Mhz with HD3850CF @823/2000

    3dmark06

    congratulations

Mine is a Q822A435 and I tried many times without succes :/ but I didn't dare to set that Vcore you applied... I will try that again on a premium X48.

Nice results eva! 5GHz benchable on H2O is a great achievement and those SPI times are pretty fast. Pity that 01 wouldn't complete at 5GHz though, but 4950 is still damn fast. What were the cpu temps at 5GHz & ~1.56v?

thanks. i hear Q822A435 are nice ones too

sometimes you wonder which is more stressful on a cpu, 20mins at 1.55v or folks trying 4500mhz 1.36-1.45v prime95 for 8-12hrs hehe

yeah loose 8-8-8-21 timings and low 507FSB would do that

yeah it would hang at 5003Mhz 3dmark2001 heh

5ghz at 1.568v bios said 48-54C but coretemp in windows was around 39-41C idle didn't check load temps as would of slowed my pi times down with extra apps running

    Very nice cpu!

Mine hits a concrete wall at 4.9GHz no matter the voltage.

4.9GHz is reachable at ~1.42V, giving more volts doesn't help at all, over 1.52V is bsod at loading windows.

Now you need to tweak some to get those superpi times better, especially that 32M needs some work.

    yup^^

    8-12 hours 1,35v during 12 hours or 20mins @ 1.55v, can't decide

I think I will try 10mins @ 1,55v but I don't feel that confident in 1ghz frequency for my rams actually, I'll give it a try as you motivate me so nicely with that 32m bench that you probably know I like it a bit

    cheers

yeah seems some of these E8600 are like that.. luckily all 5x E8600 Q820A599 of mine are similar can handle 1.55+ on water without probs

thanks it came down to motherboards i think, same cpu on EP45 Extreme topped out at 5027mhz for 1M at 1.552v with Dtek fuzion/HE120.3 water!

5ghz at 1.568v bios said 48-54C but coretemp in windows was around 39-41C idle didn't check load temps as would of slowed my pi times down with extra apps running

on EP45 Extreme temp senor in realtemp/coretemp didn't move much from stock speed idle/load versus max clock idle/load temps LOL

    Mine is Q820A324
4000Mhz Prime Stable with 1.232 volts
4100Mhz Prime Stable with 1.256 volts
4200Mhz Prime Stable with 1.3volts set in BIOS

Same values that i used to manage that prime

But now go on trough 580 fsb at any multipler...

very nice, and congrats on finally getting your 5GHz water E8600

the only problem is your making me itch to go grab the Q820A596 across the street at the local shop

hmm that's quite a bit of volts to achieve those clocks.. maybe time to try a new E8600 batch ?

    My E8600 Q820A599 did 4500mhz at 1.36v prime95 on EP45 Extreme with Dtek Fuzion H20

thanks mate 5ghz 32m on water has been a goal for so long heh would of thought you would of already caved into temptation

heh keep at it - i hear 45nm do better with vdroop versus without/less vdroop.. both my EP45 Extreme and DFI UT X48-T3RS have vdroop so wonder if it makes a difference ?

that's the eventual plan shame DFI UT X48-T3RS stuck around 500-510FSB for every dual core cpu i put in it hehe but now i know with the right board these cpus can do 32m at 5ghz.

Was initially a bit disappointed when tested on EP45 Extreme that all 5 cpus only barely managed 1M at 5ghz but now I know

    yeah my E8500 did 4700-4800mhz H20 for 32M and it did 32M 5155mhz on 1/4HP SS http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=5369

So E8600 at 5000mhz H20 for 32M, maybe can pull off 5300-5500mhz on 1/4HP SS for 32M ? I think i could pull off some decent pi times at 5500mhz with right DDR3 board

    I did my first 5Ghz 32m:

lower ram frequencies to need less vDDR. But I did all the tweaks on DDR/Windows(maxmem615,...) and the copy wasa.

This is made with D-TEK Fusion on CPU, 8cm fan on NB with 1.69vNB and 1.98 vDDR
I start taking you aver arround the 8th loop.

thanks been able to bench 3d around 4.9-4.98ghz on h20 with my new HD4870x2 http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=9976

DFI board is solid now with much more mature bios for memory clocking, but max fsb for cpu is stuck around 500-510fsb for me... for air/water should be fine for 3d/gaming but sub zero and wanting more than 5.1-5.5ghz would be harder i suppose. For pi it's a bit slower clock for clock than other x48/x38/p35 boards
