Got tired of not being able to find a desk I liked, so I built my own monster. 1" MDF construction, laminated, cable management, filtered audio power, Full HT setup with Polk Monitor's, and room for 3 LCD's for my eyefinity setup.

    Main Comp (Win 7): ASUS R4E, i7-3930k @ 4.9GHz, G.Skill Ripjaw Z 4x4GB @ 2133MHz, ATI 6950flash/6970 Xfire, Custom Watercooling
    3x Asus VW246H eyefinity; Polk Audio Monitor 40's (L,R), CS10 (C), Klipsch KG^4 (S), Sony STR-DA1000ES; all in a custom built desk
    Server: (Ubuntu 11.04) i7-920 @ 3.8GHz, 24GB G.Skill

    WOW!

That desk is so freaking awesome, oh my god. You make me want to try my hand at making something custom to my own liking now too. I just need to get rid of my massive MTX dj speakers for some nice monitors like yours.

This is the best shot I got, before the edges were finished with a marker and some filling. I learned how much of a pain laminate was. The color is Basalt Slate, and it's from home depot.

The only thing I dislike about that desk, CJ145, is how the speakers are setup. I'd much prefer an exaggerated sound-stage (having FL/FR wider than normal) than that.

My next build will most likely be integrated into a room, and I plan on making it sound as good as possible. This was more of a, okay, it won't fit anywhere else. In proper sitting position your ears are actually the same distance from each speaker and monitor (including center) and the left/right doesn't sound too close or too far apart. I might move them about 5-6" out if I could. It certainly doesn't help fill the room with them that close and at that angle, but it works perfectly for the 1 person sitting at the desk. I can easily pick up gunfire directions with this setup, where my old Klipsch 4.1 computer system I had trouble. I wish there was a way to mount them inside the monitors though... maybe projectors and mesh screens for my next setup.

I love seeing all the other eyefinity setups here, good to know there are so many. Hopefully all new games at least make an effort to support multi monitor gaming. The Crysis 2 demo was a massive disappointment to me when I saw the UI stretched across all 3 screens.

I would have a problem listening to speakers from a 30+° angle. The best way to do it would be to use Portrait monitors with Eyefinity. That'd give you 27:16 or 30:16 aspect ratios instead of 48:9 or 48:10. The latter options are far too wide while the former seem to lend a hand to even better accuracy. Bigger enemies and all.

I haven't weighed it, but it should be around 250-300lbs. It breaks into 3 parts to make moving it possible.
