OK, 3828MHz 8hr P95 Blend stable. Funny how 10K, 20K, 40K and 48K were difficult to pass with each new OC. Lower FSB volts and 0,67% - or - Notch higher FSB volt and 0,63% or error.

    Code:
    CPU VID 1,2875v

    VCORE +0,1v
    FSB +0,1v
    MCH +0,05v
    MEM +0,2v

    CPU GTLREF1	0,67%
    CPU GTLREF2	0,67%
    MCH GTLREF	AUTO

    CPU SKEW	AUTO
    MCH SKEW	AUTO
    CPU DRIVE	AUTO

    DRAM SETTINGS ALL AUTO
Still waiting for the crossfire bridge... 20€ with shipping coz Powercolor only puts graphics cards in their packages...

Little higher oc with lot higher FSB (original is 266MHz)

    3838MHz, 9x426MHz, mem x2.0, Prime95 Blend quick 7hr OK with +0,1v vcore only.

    Code:
    CPU VID 1,2875v

    VCORE +0,1v
    FSB +0,1v
    MCH +0,05v

    CPU SKEW	AUTO
    MCH SKEW	AUTO
    CPU DRIVE	AUTO

    DRAM SETTINGS ALL AUTO

/// Booted with 8.5 x 451MHz (=>3.839GHz), gonna see if it can take the 69% increase in FSB speed

/// 8x471 worked quite well in Small FFTs, but immediate errors in Large 1024K FFTs

    /// 4009MHz Priming ! 1.2875v + 0,150v = 1.43v BIOS, 1.376v load, 1.392v idle (1.400 highest seen)...Mem 890MHz, does both small and large ffts, core temps max 63C (will be 64 or 65 in the 40-48K runs)
    9x445, my E6500 thinks he's a early E8400 attaboi!

    +0,15 for MCH and FSB

see it just takes some time, it took me at least a few weeks to hit 4.3, but ended up staying at 4.0 for heat reasons.

So I just grabbed this board for some Dice runs. Going to start with some low end duels first
Just skimming through the thread it sounds like can't do much with Quads on it.
I have Jor3olrs Q9650 but I think I will put that in the Giga UD3P.

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Does the Biostar overclock utility work good for increasing FSB or am I better off with Setfsb?

I recommend all OCing to be done through the BIOS and I've found AA512 is the best BIOS version for OCing my E8500.

As for quads it's hit and miss, some people have luck others do not.

I've just had a problem with this mobo, have had it installed for a while and has been rock solid overclocked but this morning I powered on and there was no video output

On looking at the mobo display the code showed 9A
    No beeps or anything

I tried clearing BIOS which made no difference
then I tried without the GPU and I got beeps, so I thought maybe it's the GPU
    tried another GPU no difference

Looked on the net but it seems like most people have RMA'd the mobos

Then I thought I'd try changing the PCIe jumpers to the 8x configuration and suddenly it worked
Put it back to 16x and didn't work again
So now I'm on 8x and it seems to be working ok.
Not sure if anyone else has had this or not might try a different BIOS altho it has been working for 3months on 16x

I had two of them do the same thing, Are the crossfire jumpers set correctly? Otherwise RMA time. Play with all the jumpers, can't hurt at this point, it may come around.
I gave up on the tPower board and went to the Asus P5Q series.

I just had this problem. I first pulled a stick of memory and got error code E0. Then I swapped out the memory and it booted with 1 stick of Crucial. Now it is just fine with two sticks of crucial.

3927MHz was IBT High 20 runs OK (with a dual core it takes ~40mins), max temp 74C, but HSF didn't feel warm even. From 3898MHz to 3927MHz I had to up MCH and MCH Skew, higher FSB volts made stability worse. Mem @ 5-5-5-15-42 and 892MHz 2.080v

CPUz shows 1.368-1.376v idle, 1.352v-1.344v load

    CPU VID.............1,2875v

    VCORE...............+0,125v (POST 1.368v)
    MEM..................+0,2v (POST 2.080v)
    MCH..................+0,2v (POST 1.272v)
    FSB...................+0,15v (POST 1.248v)

    CPU GTLREF1......0,67%
    CPU GTLREF2......0,67%
    MCH GTLREF.......AUTO

    CPU SKEW..........100ps
    MCH SKEW.........100ps
    CPU DRIVE..........900mv

DRAM SETTINGS ..ALL AUTO, Config 3

NOW I'm satisfied with the board

I had the exact same problem/error when I installed my Q9550, I pulled out two sticks of my OCZ Reapers and it booted right up. After shutting down I put the sticks back in and all was fine.

Ok so my PC has been running and then down almost in cycles over the past 2 weeks. At first I thought it was my RAM so I pulled 2 sticks leaving only 4Gb but I eventually still had errors in MemTest after 4-5 passes. So I put a GTS 512 in my machine which I figured would have no effect. However with that card in the computer MemTest never failed and IBT passed 20 passes and I ran it again for 15 just to make sure; all tests passed. I ran everything I could think of with the GTS 512 in the computer and I could not crash it. This is with 8Gb of RAM back in the machine for all the tests (after I tested each stick and slot before doing any stress tests).

So I decided to put the 480 back in the machine and it booted up normally. I knew it would fail IBT because I had no new ideas on voltages or timings or settings in the BIOS to change. However I ran OCCT GPU test for over 2 hours and the card never crashed. Now I am at a fork in the road and I don't know what to do. This card was stable for over 6 months without one hitch at 3.75ghz and the rest of the settings in my signature. However since I installed the first 270 driver I have had issue after issue even when cleaning with Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode and every other method of cleaning/uninstalling/installing new/old drivers. My PSU was praised as one of the most stable 700W PSU ever made when it came out and if I had to pick one piece of hardware in my machine that wasn't an issue I would pick my PSU. However I'm running out of ideas and I just want to use my computer again. I'm a chronic pain patient and my PC is all I have to escape my pain during the day when everyone else is having a normal day.

Also I have ran Kaspersky Internet Security full scan + AdAware + Spybot Search and Destroy all finding 1-2 things each that were all minor and removed with no change in the PC.

Please anyone with any ideas post them and I posted this in the NVIDIA section just in case someone in there saw it but would never come in here.

BTW: I'm running my 8Gb of RAM at 6-6-6-16 52 2.2V CPU: 1.35V (after VDroop)

My next idea is using a 550W PSU to solely run the 480 and also I decided to knock out the UPS as a possibility by running my PC directly off the wall outlet which I am still doing.

I turned it down to 1.3V, it was only up that high because I kept crashing over and over in CPU tests.

new symptom the GPU fans on the Zalman VF3000F keep turning off in Windows, never in BIOS. Can a driver do this?

less FSB didn't even allow 1 pass of Intel Burn Test where the previous could pass around 10.

wait are you talking about voltage or mhz? There are pictures of both...

Thing was rock solid at 3.06ghz:

    I guess the board just can't handle 8Gb of RAM a GTX 480 and a C2Q at 3.5ghz+

However I am getting a 750W PSU just to make sure

Do you guys think the board is holding me back? I knew when I got my Q9550 that the TPower i45 wasn't the best at OCing quads. What I don't get is why did it OC so well in the beginning. I mean within 1hr of receiving the chip I was at 3.4ghz and now that is impossible to reach. I'm hoping this new PSU will give me some room for OCing

Just to let you guys know I upgraded my PSU to a Corsair HX 750W and all my problems went away. My RAM is even OCing better as is my DDR5 VRAM, I think it might have to do with having a true 8 pin cable. Also I noticed this:

This is when running an 8800 GTS 512, the only card my M12 700W could still run stable:

Not even getting 12V at load with no OC on the card.

Here is my HX 750W on the GTX 480 with OC:

Pulling over 12V with very little ripple.

My M12 is 6 years old and I know PSU can degrade in stability or even wattage; so it was probably just time to change it out. But man that Seasonic M12 gave me some awesome scores (my 3D11 PMarks in sig were on the M12)

So nothing to do with the board thank God, just thought I would update yall.

one thing i recommend users of this board to do is re-flash the 710 bios from DOS...go here to get the bios and flashing EXE..compliments of The Rebels Haven

the best thing to do is to make your USB flash drive into a FAT32 bootable drive...here is the tool to turn your USB drive into a bootable drive...compliments of Extreme Overclocking...don't forget to also download the 98 boot files on the same page...it will need those to put them on your USB drive.

i used this flash comand: C:\AFUDOS23.EXE(space)P45AA710.BSP(space)/B /N /P (space between each switch option)

you will need to rename the AFUDOS since it has 9 alpha-numeric characters ahead of the EXE...DOS won't accept any more than 8 alpha-numeric characters.

    OPTION B= PROGRAM BOOTBLOCK
    OPTION N= PROGRAM NVRAM
    OPTION P= PROGRAM MAIN BIOS

doing this re-flash opened up the ability to use all 4 DDR2 Recomp Configurations...before, i could only use Configuration 3...now i can use/try all 4...i found number 4 was the best and it allowed me to post to boot at PL=7...my QX9650 worked much better since flashing.

EDIT:...of course, the flashing procedure is not for those who are unsure...risks are there for mishaps...if you have a burp in your house electricity at the time you are flashing, it could render the board as inoperable...just something to think about.

MOST IMPORTANT PART OF FLASHING, DO NOT OVERCLOCK WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FLASH.
Hi I know this is really old but are you or did you finish with 710 bios im still using the board and was going to get another cpu q9550 but wanted to make sure i was using the best bios as ive never been able to use my ram at full speed anything over 1000 and its with crash cheers

I have a quick question, when flashing the BIOS do you lose all your saved BIOS profiles? I can't remember if I did or did not when I last updated.
