Where is a link to the new bios? Found it, bear in mind that OC is on a GigabyteX48 board, everything under water. I do not game @5Mhz nor do i need to.
    Thanks !

Please does anyone know how much juice one can safely pull from the fan headers on these boards?
Not sure what the voltage is but I do know you can't run a 120MM fan from it and expect it to still work.

Does anybody know if the I45 bios will work on the TP45HP board, they are pretty much the same board?

When I first won this motherboard a lot of people swore to stay away from quads, but now I keep seeing people with the TPower i45 Q9550s running 3.5-3.8ghz which would be perfect for my rig. My question is what is the best quad to put in this board or is it still best to stick with dual cores on this model? I heard the board lacked the options to properly OC a quad like other boards, but If I can hit 3.6ghz I'd be happy with it. Do I have to get a Q9550 in order to hit speeds like this or would one of the lower model quads also reach this speed?

Anyone with experience using quads in this board please provide some advice and I'm not trying to spend more than $220. The Q9400 looks like the best deal, but with the Q9550 only $20 more I would just get the Q9550. However I don't want to buy a CPU that isn't going to mesh well with this board and that is why I'd like to hear some opinions.

Is it worth it to sell my E8500 @ 24/7 4ghz (stable at 4.4ghz on air) and get a Q9550 (or similar)?

Thanks to Ace and makaka, following your settings I reached 5Ghz/4.3 stable with my E8500 EO............... PROOF

It was done on water with an IandH CPU block w/ mounting plates by Nafljhy and NB/Mosfet blocks by Fstfrddy.

    Gotta love community effort.

In my opinion the short answer would be no, since you are on air.

I bought the T-Power i45 to OC my Q9550, only to learn it is better suited for C2D's.
So, I've since purchased a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P for the Quad and transferred my E8500 the BioStar board.

    Here are my results for both chips on the T-Power: Q9550 @ 4.27Ghz @ 5.9v and E8500 @ 5Ghz @ 4.8v.

If I update my BIOS to P45AA512, will I need to reinstall my RAID e.g. format everything?

with tpower i45 you get high frecuencies but not the best super pi times or best bench score.

of course that tpower i45 is an extreme mobo but think what you want high frecuencies? or best benchmarks scores?

Q9550 Suggestion and layout to Overclock

Anybody in here got a Q9550 EO on there I45 board Oc'd and can you give me some good setting for it? everytime I go into put x8.5 it's saids x6.0 on the Cpu-z read out and I go into the bio's the multiplier saids x8.5 do...I need to update to new bio's...I did'nt have this problem with my E8400 EO is there a Differents with a Quad Core..I heard that the I45 don't like Quads to much and there better with Core 2 Duo's if anybody can point my in the right direction.. of oc'ing a Q9550... Thats the thermal throttling kicking in. Leave CPU-z open and start something that works the CPU and watch the multiplier raise back up. If you want it to stay at 8.5, then turn off C1e and EIST in BIOS under CPU features.

Hello all. Does anyone happen to know which is the last revision of this board ? Thanks in advance.

Don't take my word on this, but I think it's compatible with the same types of RAM as just about any other updated motherboard.

Any ideas as to why my I45 will not go into BIOS with Xfire enabled?
I had to unplug the bottom card and set the jumpers back to normal position so I could get in.

For video card's sake, I tested this with 3 different HD3870s in different combos.
